Linlin (pseudonym), a 17-year-old Ordos girl, was originally a student in the secondary school class of Inner Mongolia National Preschool Normal College, and was repeatedly beaten and bullied by many classmates in 2023 by forcing her to go to a bar to accompany her to drink, kneel, grab her hair, and slap her. After the incident, Linlin's parents reported the incident, and four of the students who assaulted Linlin were sentenced.

Rin-rin (chemical name)

Due to long-term school bullying, Linlin suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and had to change schools. But what I didn't expect was that the parents of the classmates who were sentenced reported Linlin's transfer violations. Since May 16 this year, Linlin has been told by her teacher that she can no longer attend the new school.

Squatted at home for 12 days

Students who go to school can't afford to wait a day

On the afternoon of May 28, Linlin's father, Mr. Ren, came to the door of a middle school in Ordos again.

This is the sixth time that his daughter has come to the school to find the relevant leaders after he was told not to come to the school.

As usual, the security guard at the school gate did not let him in, and Mr. Ren could only dial the principal's phone at the school gate. On the phone, the principal told him that the child could continue to attend school as long as the Education and Sports Bureau agreed. After begging the principal to no avail and being hung up, Mr. Ren turned around and went to the Education and Sports Bureau of Dongsheng District, Ordos City.

In the Policy and Regulation Office of the Dongsheng District Education and Sports Bureau, Mr. Ren hopes that the District Education and Sports Bureau will coordinate to let his daughter continue to study in the new school. The staff told him that although the school Linlin is studying in Dongsheng District, this school is a municipal school, and the authority is in the Municipal Education and Sports Bureau. The staff said that they had received Mr. Ren's request for help from the 12345 hotline before, and had given feedback, although Mr. Ren was not satisfied, but the District Education and Sports Bureau could not coordinate, so he could only find the Municipal Education and Sports Bureau.

The Ordos Municipal Education and Sports Bureau is about a 50-minute drive from Dongsheng District, where Mr. Ren lives. When Mr. Ren rushed to the door of the Municipal Education and Sports Bureau, he was stopped by the security guards, although he then agreed to go upstairs to report the situation after communicating with the staff of the Municipal Education and Sports Bureau by phone, but the security guard said that Mr. Ren had been here several times, and could only let the staff go downstairs to the hall on the first floor to receive him.

After reading Mr. Ren's materials, the staff of the Basic Education Department said that their department could not solve this matter, and that multiple departments needed to study it, and suggested that Mr. Ren go through the petition channel. "When I came to the bureau before, the leader also told me so. I asked how long it would take for the petition to get a result, and they said that it would take 15 working days at the earliest. Mr. Ren said, "The child has been squatting at home for 12 days, and the students who go to school can't afford to wait a day!" ”

It was already dark when he returned home after a long day, and his daughter was still studying through the Internet in front of the computer, and Mr. Ren felt powerless.

Being bullied by multiple girls in the same dormitory

The school expelled four students who beat people

Everything is due to the school bullying incident a year ago.

On April 6, 2023, Mr. Ren's wife received a call from her daughter Linlin, who is in the secondary school class of Inner Mongolia National Preschool Normal College, saying that she had been beaten at school and found that her daughter's face was red and swollen when she arrived at school. After the investigation, it was learned that the daughter was bullied and beaten many times by multiple girls in the same dormitory by forcing her to go to a bar to accompany the drink, insulting her personality, kneeling, grabbing her hair, and slapping her, and filmed videos.

After the incident, the school expelled four students who beat them, and the local police gave the beaters an administrative punishment and opened a case for investigation on suspicion of picking quarrels and provoking trouble. At the end of 2023, the Dongsheng District People's Court in Ordos made a first-instance verdict and sentenced the four beaters to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from one year and six months to suspended sentences for the crime of picking quarrels and provoking trouble.

The court found that from March 3 to April 6, 2023, the four defendants, who also lived in the Inner Mongolia Ethnic Preschool Normal College, repeatedly bullied Linlin about ten times by randomly beating, intimidating, insulting, looking through their mobile phones, and shooting small videos for trivial matters, and some of them repeatedly slapped Linlin, beat her with a towel, forced her to kneel down to apologize, and took photos of Linlin to make emojis. The four defendants also bullied another female classmate in Linlin's dormitory in the same way.

The court held that in order to vent their emotions, the four of them repeatedly and arbitrarily beat and insulted others, and the circumstances were heinous, and that the four were between the ages of 16 and 18, and were given lenient punishments in accordance with law.

Rushing News reporters learned that during the trial, the families of the two defendants proposed that the defendants suffered from mental illness. After the first-instance verdict was announced, the defendant appealed, and the Ordos Intermediate People's Court upheld the original verdict after trial.

Hospital diagnosis

was reported to have borrowed it in violation of regulations

It is understood that after the bullying incident, Linlin was diagnosed with depression and was unwilling to continue to return to her original school after being treated in the hospital for a period of time. "When my daughter mentions her old school, she remembers being beaten and kneeling."

In order not to aggravate his daughter's condition, Mr. Ren proposed to the school to study in a different environment. Under the active coordination of the Inner Mongolia National Preschool Normal College, Linlin went to a middle school in Dongsheng District, Ordos City, to study at the beginning of the school year last fall.

"On May 16 this year, my daughter was told by the school not to go to school." Mr. Ren said that he rushed to the school where his daughter was borrowing, and the principal of the school said that someone had reported Linlin's illegal borrowing, so he could only let Linlin go home.

Mr. Ren later investigated and found that the person who reported his daughter was the parent of a student who had previously beaten her and was sentenced. "My daughter disappeared after being persuaded to quit by the school that day, and after calling the police, the police found her at 3 a.m. the next day."

"I have communicated with the relevant departments many times about the child's borrowing. The defendant and his family also wrote a letter of guarantee that they could not retaliate against us in any way, and now they are reporting it. Mr. Ren said that his daughter was deeply affected by the bullying incident, and originally hoped that a change of environment would help her to regain her strength, but she was hurt again and directly deprived of her right to study.

According to an online complaint obtained by a Rushing News reporter, the respondent believes that Mr. Ren's daughter is in school and most of the students are dissatisfied, Mr. Ren expands the facts, the court judgment is unfair, and Linlin's borrowing seriously damages the good educational ecological environment in Ordos City. "I sincerely ask the higher departments and relevant leaders to pay attention to this matter and re-investigate and try this matter." At present, the complaint information is no longer available online.

On the morning of May 29, a reporter from Rushing News dialed the phone number provided by Mr. Ren and asked about the reason for the report, but the other party denied the report and hung up the phone.

"Want to go to school?"

"Yes!"

After being dropped out of school, Linlin has been staying at home and being silent every day.

Mr. Ren noticed that in the past ten days, his daughter still gets up every day as she does when she goes to school, and conducts cultural classes online synchronously, and invites teachers from outside to come to her home for professional classes.

Mr. Ren's wife will give birth next month, and he is worried that his wife's mood will be affected, so at first Mr. Ren hid from his wife that he did not say anything about his daughter's expulsion from school, saying that the school was on vacation. Later, the daughter was always at home, and under the questioning of his wife, she still knew the truth, and urged Mr. Ren to beg the school leaders every day.

"Want to go to school?"

"Yes!"

The brief father-daughter conversation made Mr. Ren feel that he could not give up his daughter's opportunity to study.

"Her wish is to be admitted to the Xi'an Conservatory of Music, her piano level has passed the eighth level, and there is hope for her to work hard in the cultural class." Mr. Ren said that losing this opportunity to study now is tantamount to ruining his daughter's lifelong future.

In the past half a month, Mr. Ren has repeatedly sought help from the education authorities of Ordos City and Dongsheng District, but there has been no progress so far. He reported to the Women's Federation of Ordos City and Dongsheng District, but to no avail.

On the morning of May 29, the Ordos Women's Federation replied to an interview with a reporter from Rushing News, saying that the Women's Federation attaches great importance to this matter and does its best to help. The staff of the Dongsheng District Women's Federation told reporters that they had received information for help and were verifying it.

On May 28th and 29th, Rushing News reporters contacted the Ordos Municipal Education and Sports Bureau for interviews several times in Ordos, but did not receive a reply.

On the afternoon of the 29th, Mr. Ren once again went to the relevant departments of Ordos City for help.

There was a billboard on the side of the road that read "Ordos, a city that warms the world".
