The reason why I came here was to participate in the test drive of Weipai's Mocha DHT-PHEV model. However, the 45-minute journey from the airport to the hotel, in addition to some leased sports cars, convertibles, and hardcore SUVs, is almost all green brand new energy vehicles.
Maybe the main sales force of Wei Pai is not in Guangdong Province, because since I test-drove the 2.0T+48 volt mixed model of the Mocha last year, I really haven't seen a few more on the road. Since its launch last year, sales have remained at around 4,500 units, compared with 2,542 units in January 2022.
After careful consideration, today's new energy vehicles are fragrant, which should be the failure to get the green card of the mocha light hybrid model caused by sales failure. However, last year was also a year for the adjustment or expansion of Weipai products. Therefore, we can now see the birth of a MOCHA DHT-PHEV model based on the lemon platform.

First of all, I personally am not optimistic about pure electric drive models, because the existing technology has shown that the composition and material of the battery restrict the development and popularization of pure electric vehicles.
Some manufacturers will use the diversion of consumers' attention, how fast the acceleration time is, how large the battery pack capacity is, and how complete the functions of the car machine are, covering up the problems that have always existed in pure trams, the charging time is slow, and the use of batteries in the region and temperature is limited. Therefore, I firmly believe that plug-in hybrid new energy vehicles will continue to be an important role in the next 20 years.

This reminds me of Lexus, which had just introduced the ES 350h hybrid in the Chinese market, with an advertisement that "when you go out, it's not that you can accelerate faster than anyone, but who can walk a thousand kilometers without refueling."
Wei Pai plug-in hybrid technology is actually quite interesting. The engine of the Mocha DHT-PHEV is a 1.5T small displacement turbine, rather than a large displacement of naturally aspirated, and even if it is driven in the feed state after turbocharging, it does have the opportunity to achieve a fuel consumption of 5.55 liters per 100 kilometers in the case of sufficient torque.
The full name of DHT is (Dedicated Hybrid Technology), compared to the previous hybrid vehicle, its advantage is that in addition to the electric drive to make up for the internal combustion engine start, low speed and all other poor fuel economy conditions; in the medium speed case, there are more choices of drive methods, both pure electric drive, or through the two-speed transmission in the medium speed gear, choose to be driven by the engine alone, in this case, you can avoid some motor power consumption too fast conditions.
Of course, this also increases the workload of calibration engineers, only repeated calculations can make the program accurately determine the current speed, the engine for the motor range and engine direct drive which way is more economical. In the high-speed cruising state, its two-speed two-stop design can indeed allow the engine to intervene earlier in the working state to improve the fuel economy of long-distance high-speed cruising.
That is to say, although before I set off from the hotel, the vehicle showed that the fuel range was 680 kilometers, and the battery life was 186 kilometers (not fully charged), but as long as the driving mode was selected correctly, it was possible to charge the battery while walking. Intuitively understood, the engine most of the time, in fact, in the battery charging, occasionally come out to participate in the drive, such a setting is indeed a reasonable use of each drop of oil, so as to ensure every kilowatt-hour of electricity.
The Mocha DHT-PHEV supports fast-charging mode, a 39.67 kWh battery pack, and also takes only 35 minutes. As for whether it can really achieve 1200 km endurance, we have to wait until Guangzhou has a test drive, and then borrow it to verify.
In fact, the purpose of Wei Pai's launch of Mocha DHT-PHEV is very simple, that is, to make the endurance of new energy vehicles can be substantially increased, and it is also clear that its competitor is the ideal ONE. However, only the ideal ONE in series mode will significantly reduce the fuel consumption economy in long-distance battery life. Compared with the ideal ONE, the only disadvantage of mocha may be the number of seats.
Good to open, is the mocha DHT-PHEV to give me the most intuitive feeling. First of all, because of the pure electrical output, the torque is fully exploded at any time, and the body that drives more than 2 tons will not drag. In addition, the engine intervention was not abrupt, thanks to the optimized sound insulation treatment, and harman INFINITY sound has its own noise reduction technology, only a slight rev sound is transmitted to the cockpit.
When I test-drove the light hybrid version of the mocha last year, I was impressed by the solid tuning of its chassis. This time to test drive the Mocha DHT-PHEV, I am still satisfied. The setting of the front McPherson rear multi-link, although more conventional, but the hem arm and steering knuckle are made of cast aluminum, Wei Party this flagship SUV, is indeed very willing to spend money. I got the front-drive single-motor version, so there's no off-road mode in the driving mode, and I can't have an optional air suspension. The road outside the hotel, the speed limit area is too correct, so most of the time, I just use the standard mode to drive.
Before the deadline, Wei Pai officially announced the price of mocha DHT-PHEV, 0 anxiety smart version (single motor) 295,000 yuan, 0 anxiety performance version (double motor) 315,000 yuan, a total of two models.
I personally think that as far as the product itself is concerned, the pricing is reasonable, after all, the mocha DHT-PHEV model of the same class is also in this price range. But I would prefer that Weipai can launch a mocha DHT-PHEV with multiple mileage solutions, thereby reducing the price and expanding the audience. For example, the launch of pure electric endurance of 150 kilometers, the comfortable configuration is subtracted, but the price is down to 250,000 yuan of models.
