TGE City's vehicle design continues the family-specific character of the MAN TGE series. The flat and stable exterior of the vehicle and the powerful body lines create a full sense of muscle. TGE City's rearview mirror frames have been slightly widened for better visibility. Turn signals are integrated into the frames, making the cue effect more pronounced. The main driving door is installed on the left side of the vehicle and covers the passenger area with a large area of glass, resulting in better lighting performance. TGE City also applied a window treatment similar to that on the Mercedes-Benz Sprint Travel 75 model, using a large area of black painting to visually integrate the original split windows into one, bringing better visual performance, which is the exquisite feature of European light passengers.
The entrance door of the vehicle is placed on the right side of the body. TGE City has applied large swing doors on buses to make it easier for passengers to get on the bus. In order to reduce changes to the body structure, the TGE City still retains the door on the passenger side, but eliminates the door handle, allowing the co-pilot space for passengers to stand, so that the interior space is more integrated. The wheelbase of the vehicle is 4490 mm, which takes into account the arrangement of the standing area and the riding area.
The interior of the vehicle adopts a low-floor design, which can be boarded in one step, and the standing space is mainly composed of flat floor areas, which is safer and more convenient. All TGE City factories come standard with large folio doors and folding wheelchair ramps for greater convenience for the elderly and disabled. At the same time, the vehicle also added boarding armrests next to the door to further ensure the safety of boarding.
The vehicle's tailgate design is consistent with the regular TGE model. The license plate holder is placed in the lower left, and the lower right side is added with Mann's MAN silver logo, and the glass center is also decorated with Mann's fierce lion icon. TGE City is not equipped with a rear pedal, which is more visually holistic. There is also a reversing camera on the top of the rear to further assist the vehicle in maneuvering.
Since TGE City is a minibus that focuses on city passenger transport, passengers do not carry large luggage. Therefore, the interior space of the vehicle is used to accommodate passenger seats and place standing space, and there is no rear luggage compartment and side luggage compartment installed.
Next, it's time to get inside the vehicle. MANN TGE City offers 2 different seating arrangements, one is a 10+1 seat arrangement, the other is a 13+1 arrangement, and the standing space is also equipped with three folding seats to adapt to different working conditions.
The vehicle's driving area components remain the same as those of the regular TGE model. Whether it is the steering wheel of the vehicle, the multimedia system, the air outlet, the dashboard and other components, they all reveal a strong popular style, but the interior is adapted for Mann. Behind the main driver, there is also a glass partition that separates the passenger area from the driving area.
The gear handle style and air conditioning control area are very intimate. Next to the gear handle, there is also a station announcer, a door, and a control panel for equipment such as suspension and wheelchair ramps, which the driver can reach with one hand and is very convenient and intuitive to control.
The interior of the vehicle is designed in a relaxed and comfortable style. As a result, the roof of the vehicle is raised and white lights are integrated. The other designs inside have been dominated by simple colors, such as seat and floor color matching, the collision between different colors is not obtrusive, and the overall design style is relatively simple, which is also the design language that Mann wants to convey at TGE City.
The entire standing area is almost a flat floor area, and the rear raised area is used to accommodate the seats, which cleverly makes use of the different interior spaces and maximizes the use of space. More seats provide a more comfortable ride when there is less footfall, and the bulge of the body floor acts as a natural seat support.
Safety handrails can be found everywhere in the car, and devices such as USB charging ports and parking request buttons are installed to further facilitate passenger travel.
From all aspects, this TGE City small city bus solves many pain points and fills the gap in Mann's urban bus products below the 12-meter class. The exquisite design and exquisite use of space make this TGE City even more attractive.
