Young writer Niu Xueying on the essay collection "Paper and Ink": Write My Intuition, Write My "Sunrise"

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point reporter Shi Wenjing

"In the brilliant sunshine, the yin of the sky in the heart is like the sand in the hourglass, leaking out little by little."

"The sky is gloomy like a lake in a metropolis, and it is like a picture scroll of black ink, dotted with wind, thunder, and electricity, depicting the shape of Qu Yuan's passionate poems."

"Time passes day by day, and we will always break through the warm embrace of our parents." It used to be my own sky, but I knew that after that, there was my own universe waiting. Let yourself be goodbye to yesterday. ”

"How to stand against the wind in the noisy sound, how to appreciate the beauty of nature through the wind and snow, is a problem that needs to be done all the time."

"Paper and Ink" records niu Xueying's many life feelings, she describes the "growing pains" and "sunny days", but also describes the beauty of life such as fishing, skiing, painting Chinese paintings, etc. She loves literary classics, and in the article, she also launched a dialogue with Su Shi, Song Lian, Rousseau and others, drawing nourishment from classic works, thinking more thoroughly and deeply.

Niu Xueying touches life with warm and beautiful writing and sensitive and delicate feelings, expressing her understanding of the world. From primary school to university, from domestic to foreign, the author's growth bits and pieces converge into the mental journey of a new generation of students. This is a collection of spiritual stories for growing children.

Niu Xueying grew up in Jinan, studied at shandong university second attached middle school, Jigang high school, graduated from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and is now a graduate student at Beijing Normal University. Niu Xueying is a very good "other people's child" in the mouth of many parents, won several first-class scholarships during school, guaranteed graduate students, participated in the "Young Leaders Summit" in the United States as a student representative in high school, published a number of professional papers in Chinese and English during undergraduate and graduate school, and also went to the United States to preach at the Artificial Intelligence Conference (HCII2019). The books are described in simple and small things, but they all contain warm, healing energy, can attract empathy, and can awaken the most tender memories in the reader's heart. This is definitely a good book for parents to buy for their children, and I believe that the author's words can encourage children to put down their electronic devices and regain their love for real life. ”

Niu Xueying

Write about the troubles of growth, but also write about the joy of growth.

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: After the publication of the work, it was loved by many readers on the book website. What were your thoughts on the first book?

Niu Xueying: The first time I published a book, it felt quite unreal. I feel very honored and grateful that what I wrote in middle school and college can be seen and loved by everyone again. Special thanks to the Chinese teachers who educated and helped me throughout the process, the Chinese teachers of shandong University Second Affiliated Middle School and Jigang High School, the editors of Qingdao Publishing House, and the elders of my family. There are many people behind the publication of this book who are silently supporting and encouraging.

"Sunny Days" is a work from junior high school, writing about climbing feelings, failure, persistence, success, and finally seeing "That's the sky, the clearest blue." Instructor Wang Chengye wrote this comment: "From the eyes of the author, I saw the sunshine blooming. The sunshine in the heart is spread on the manuscript paper, and the words full of the taste of the sun will be harvested. The beautiful and enterprising brushstrokes bring the reader a re-examination of the times: to live with a young, pure heart, and to bathe in the sunshine of the soul. "Hopefully my article will deliver sunshine.

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: Looking back at these articles, what do you think of your writing process?

Niu Xueying: When I was in elementary school and junior high school, there was no special way of entertainment, and I read a lot of idle books and miscellaneous books that were not related to textbooks, including some magazines and romance novels. So the writing process feels more one-way, that is, input + output, see some things that feel good at the time also want to write, now it seems that many are more green things.

The most important thing in prose should be to express the true feelings, convey some of the most direct feelings at that time, the feelings are real, then the reader will feel immersed or even empathetic when he sees it. I didn't feel very satisfied with a particular article, and now it seems that it is a commemoration of the period of growth, and each one expresses the mood and thoughts of the time. Write about the troubles of growth, but also write about the joy of growth.

Read what you're interested in, and don't set limits on yourself

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: Your article is very good at lyricism with scenery and material lyricism, writing about sunshine and summer, and the text is full of unique insights. Your text is concise, refreshing, and powerful, how did you form this style of writing? How does the rich sensibility come about?

Niu Xueying: I don't know exactly how it was formed. Growing up, I was used to putting myself in various positions to consider the feelings of others, and I may have put this kind of empathy thinking on scenery and objects when I was a child.

I started publishing essays in journals at the age of thirteen, and "Ballads in the Sun" won the first prize in the school essay competition. Mr. Zuo Zhenkun, president of the Northern Women and Children's Publishing House and editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine "Big Reading", thinks that my work is "unique". When he published my essay "Seeing Snow in the Snow", he added an editor's note, saying that my article was: "The outstanding feature is that I have my own thinking, my own views on the people or things I write, and write naturally and fluently, which is rare and valuable, and it is also strongly advocated by this journal." ”

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: Some of your articles are about poetry, such as Su Shi, Qu Yuan, etc., and there are also novels after reading, what is your reading trajectory? You have an article about how you first read the tome classics and Agatha Christie, etc., and then started reading comics and youth literature, what is your own subtle experience of reading this experience?

Niu Xueying: Reading some classic things at the beginning can help us establish basic aesthetic and judgmental skills, so at the beginning we read some famous classic ancient poems and the like. Then for a while I was also obsessed with the storyline of novels and read a lot of novels. Later, I reached adolescence and began to read comics and youth literature. My reading experience is to come with preferences, to go with the flow, to read what is interested in what, not to set limits on yourself.

Traditional literature played a framing role in my upbringing

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: I feel that you have absorbed a lot of nutrition from traditional poetry and traditional culture, and you are also good at borrowing useful things in your writing. Can you talk specifically about reading in this area? What role do you think traditional cultural influences play in language learning, daily writing, and your own growth?

Niu Xueying: There are many very classic things in traditional culture, for example, everyone can imagine different scenes from the same poem, so traditional culture brings us not only the reincarnation of history, but also a space for free imagination, everyone can put themselves in the fantasy and expression of poetry or articles, and use their own words to convey their unique feelings.

Traditional literature actually played a framework role in my growth process, and the sense of history and heaviness it brought with it could withstand repeated scrutiny, and this kind of work could not be fully understood after reading hundreds of times, and it could lead you to a better aesthetic to appreciate more excellent works.

Classic things will "moisturize and silently" affect your writing, but they will not be completely limited. In "Late Winter and Early Spring", I wrote that the early spring sunshine "hits the trunk of the tree, and the leaves dance with it", and the predecessors wrote that the sun generally used "shine" and "sprinkle", while I used "hit". The early spring sun is warm and expectant, "hitting" the tree, afraid of losing it. In fact, the leaves are shaken by the wind, but I feel that they are danced by the sun. Predecessors wrote about sunrise, mostly using "liter", I wrote "the sun grows out of the endless dry grass outside the railing, light yellow and light yellow, yellow lemon yellow orange yellow orange red." ”

In ancient and modern China and abroad, there are many literary heroes who write about sunrise, such as Heine's "Travels in the Harz Mountains", Turgenev's "Hunter's Notes", Liu Baiyu's "Sunrise", etc., which are all models for me to study. I pass on my predecessors, write my intuition, write my "sunrise."

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: Your article is very rational and clear, and you pay attention to expressing your inner rational thinking, which is not the same as the prose written by girls I imagined. Why have you been so good at rational thinking and rational expression since childhood?

Niu Xueying: Since I was a child, I have been a relatively contradictory person, more rational when dealing with things, and more emotional in my treatment of feelings. There have also been a state of chaos in life, and the whole person is still relatively loose.

Good at rational expression, I think it is because in the process of empathy thinking, I am more accustomed to looking at the whole thing with a neutral attitude, rather than grasping a certain point to tangle.

Good youth literature resonates

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: In prose reading, which writers do you like the most? Who is your role model? How often is prose writing now?

Niu Xueying: I like Zhuangzi, Su Shi, Zhang Dai, Zhu Ziqing and other straightforward writers. I rarely write now, I go to graduate school, I have more assignments and essay writing tasks, and I occasionally write a little prose, but I still write a journal every day.

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: For the current primary and secondary school students to write essays is a very important language learning content, if you let you give some suggestions for primary and secondary school reading, writing, what do you think is the most important? How to write a good article like you?

Niu Xueying: I think sticking to writing is the most important thing. I am now grateful to my middle school teachers for their persistent demand that we have a fixed output every week. Reading is not difficult in itself, but it takes a lot of execution to continuously express your views and feelings. For primary and secondary school students who are not yet strongly self-motivated, guiding them to a fixed output may be a good choice.

Qilu Evening News Qilu One Point: Do you pay attention to the current youth prose writing? In the comments of your book, many authors like the writing and transparency of your articles, and think that they have maturity beyond age. What do you think good youth writing should look like?

Niu Xueying: The current youth prose does not pay special attention, I think good youth literature should be able to give some resonance to children in that young section. Instead of standing on the commanding heights to guide them, tell them that I have also had the same stage as you, and you will grow up slowly.
