It is understood that the Women's Steel Frame Snowmobile Competition of the Winter Olympics lasted for 2 days, with a total of 25 players participating. According to the rules of the Winter Olympic Games, a total of 3 official training sessions are arranged before the official competition, and each player can perform a total of 6 taxi trips to adapt to the track, adjust the equipment, and find the best gliding feeling. In the first 2 official training sessions, Zhao Dan performed well, winning the first place in 2 of the 4 taxis, and she was the only female athlete to skate 62 seconds in training.
At 14:00 on February 9, the women's steel-frame snowmobile athletes performed their last official training, and the maximum temperature in Beijing's Yanqing Haituo Mountain District was close to 2 degrees Celsius that day. In response to the warming temperature and the rising ice temperature of the track, the coach adjusted the angle of the blade of Zhao Dan's steel frame snowmobile, and finally she ranked 6th and 16th in the 2-trip skating performance. Since the equipment adjusted in advance also needed to be adapted, Zhao Dan had several bumps while passing through different curves. "Our blade was chosen based on temperature, and today we chose this blade to feel its floating up and down and its impact on the ice surface in order to respond to changes in factors such as rising temperatures in time during the race." Zhao Dan said.
Zhao Dan believes that there is still a certain gap between the Chinese team and the traditional strong team in the steel frame snowmobile project, and to be able to participate is to enjoy the whole process and strive to show the best level. In the official training, the world champion and German steel frame bobsleigh star Herman affirmed the Chinese team members, saying that the Chinese women's athletes performed very well, perfectly, they are very strong.
