Youxian "Searchlight" is a major feature of Hunan's Annual Folk Customs, which has a history of more than 600 years.
At nightfall, under the leadership of the "headlamp", the searchlight team dressed in uniform clothing and holding the lamp holder wandered between the villages according to the established route, like a long "fire dragon". The villagers put on a colorful display of lights and prayed for a smooth wind and rain in the coming year, and a good harvest of grain.
