Re-read "The Ordinary World"

Many years ago, I read "Ordinary World" and marveled at the author Lu Yao's panoramic presentation of urban and rural social life, the vivid portrayal of various ordinary characters and the depiction of suffering as the background, kindness, self-esteem, self-improvement and unremitting struggle, which he used simple but thousands of hammers to refine the language, and it is indeed the crown jewel of the Mao Dun Literature Award.
Re-reading this "Ordinary World" today, I am still deeply moved and inspired. In particular, the protagonist Sun Shaoping's hard and tortuous life has always maintained a kind and self-respecting and unremitting struggle, making people look up to the extraordinary brilliance of humanity shining in this ordinary.
"He quickly squatted down, panicked as if stealing, and used a spoon to scoop the leftover soup mixed with rainwater from the bottom of the basin into his bowl, and the hissing sound of the iron spoon scraping the bottom of the basin was as frightening as the explosion of a bomb, and blood rushed to his yellow face." This is the author's detailed description of the poor and embarrassing teenager Sun Shaoping who is studying when he eats, which makes people very truly appreciate Shaoping's sensitive and shy, embarrassing and self-respecting heart.
"After three days, his back was crushed. He couldn't see the miserable condition on his back, only felt like a barbed strip of kudzu had brushed it. Both hands immediately swelled up, and the skin of the flesh was ground by the stone like a layer of transparent paper, and even the capillaries could be seen. Such a hand on the new stubble is like a knife blade! When he went to sleep the third night, his whole body burned like a fire. In his sleep, he longed for something cold to extinguish the flames in his body. This is a description of Shaoping's small work. People who have not personally experienced this hardship cannot write such a real feeling. As on the cover page, "I dedicate this book to the land and years in which I lived." Although it is a few simple words, it shows that this is a work of painstaking efforts that combines the author's growing years and traces of life.
If Shaoping's hard life makes people who have experienced poverty and hardship feel empathy, then his love story makes people sigh and sigh!
When the love dou first opened, he rubbed shoulders with hao Hongmei, a beautiful female classmate who was also poor, and later met Tian Xiaoxia, the daughter of the secretary of the prefectural party committee who was naïve, simple and kind, and brave, in the material gap between wealth and extreme poverty, and the disparity in the knowledge of college students and high school students, Shaoping did not escape, nor did he feel inferior: "He drank the nectar of love. If happiness continues like this, and a lover eventually becomes a dependent, it is not the world of ordinary people. Ordinary people are destined to suffer and suffer. The sweet and unforgettable love between the two ended with Xiaoxia's unexpected death. "The most painful and unacceptable thing is that when the flower of life is blooming, it suddenly withers." Xiaoxia "snubbed into mud, only incense as it was", leaving Shaoping with only pain to the cone, numbness, and torn heart.

"Ordinary World" ends in Shaoping's extraordinary choice to reject the beautiful and brave Jin Xiu and choose to return to the side of Tongcheng Coal Mine Huiying. After a long time of reminiscing, in addition to Shaoping, there will also be flashes of various ordinary characters in the book, such as Sun Shao'an, He Xiulian and his wife, who are also struggling in the failure and success, the local philosopher Tian Futang, the idle Wang Manyin, the sun Yuting who is good at seeing the wind and making the rudder, and the fool Tian Er...
Covering up and thinking, the echo in the ear is the sentence from the heart: "Life is an endless struggle, only by choosing a goal and feeling that your efforts are not wasted in the struggle, such a life is full, and the spirit will always be young." ”
