The first traditional culture inheritance center in Shanghai, the "North Railway Station Traditional Culture Inheritance Center", was established in the North Railway Station Art Center in Jing'an District. On February 26th, representatives of Shanghai Haipai Comic Strip Center, Lu'an Printing Clay Making Technique Transmission Institute, Shanghai Yuntai Calligraphy and Painting Institute, Shanghai Jing'an Huai Opera Artist Zhou Xiaofang Genre Promotion Center, Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage Month Brand Painting Inheritance Institute, Yuan Taiji Guoshu Association and other representatives and Shanghai Peking Opera House National Second-level Actor Li Chun accepted the "letter of appointment" of North Station Street, officially settled in North Railway Station, and set up relevant studios; North Station Street also cooperated with Shanghai Yue Theater to set up "Shanghai Yue Opera Intangible Culture Transmission Base" to gather Yue opera popularity in the community.
Beizhan Street is the inheritance base of Shanghai's theater intangible cultural heritage, and in 2021, it was rated as Shanghai's "Folk Culture and Art Town", and is a cultural landmark with a unique Historical and Cultural Atmosphere of Shanghai. In the early 1990s, Beizhan Street began to cultivate children's Peking Opera, forming an opera cultural highland featuring children's Peking Opera and integrating beijing, Kunming, Shanghai, Yue and Huai.
North Railway Station Street is the starting point and foothold of the development of Yangtze River Delta opera culture in Shanghai, and opera arts such as Beijing, Kunming, Shanghai and Yuehuai have a century-old heritage in North Railway Station. According to research, traditional operas such as Kunqu opera and Yue opera landed in Shanghai from the North Railway Station as early as possible. In 2019, In cooperation with Shanghai Peking Opera House and Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe, North Railway Station Street set up the "Shanghai Peking Opera Transmission Base" and "Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe Kunqu Transmission Base" to create a cultural brand of "North Station Opera Culture Festival", and successively held a series of activities such as "Quyun Fanghua - North Station Opera Culture Festival", "North Station National Chao Opera Culture Festival" and "Centennial Style, Qiyi Liufang - North Station Opera Culture Festival", bringing wonderful and diverse opera performances and opera education activities to community residents. Among them, the "Vegetarian Training Camp" project features the experience of opera dressup, opera makeup, learning opera movements and singing voices, and promotes opera in a fun form, which has become a brand project widely loved by white-collar workers. At the event site, Zhang Fan, president of Shanghai Peking Opera House, and Liang Hongjun, president of Shanghai Yue Theater, jointly launched the 2022 "Vegetarian Training Camp" project, which will accommodate more abundant types of opera this year.
Yue opera has a deep mass base in the North Railway Station, the North Railway Station Street Yue Opera Troupe has been established for more than ten years, and the Yue Opera Love Yue Small Station and other opera cultural institutions have been incubated and established in the North Railway Station. After the establishment of the "Shanghai Yue Opera Intangible Culture Transmission Base" in The North Station Street, it will further enhance the strength of the community to learn traditional opera culture.
Li Chun, a national second-level actor of the Shanghai Peking Opera House, who accepted the letter of appointment on the same day, was a special tutor for the "Beijing-Kunming Xiaosheng Base" project in The North Station Street. Under his teaching and guidance, many young white-collar students started from opera lovers and went deep into the opera garden to try their hand. At the unveiling ceremony, the students of the "Xiaosheng Base" brought a Peking Opera Folding Zi Play, although they were beginners in Peking Opera, they stood on the stage and won the affirmation of artists including Jin Xihua, a national first-class actor at the Shanghai Peking Opera House.
In the 1920s and 1930s, the mongolian road area of North Station Street was the birthplace of China's comic strip publishing industry, and the title of "comic strip" began to appear from here and is still used today. North Station Street also has a deep relationship with The Haipai calligrapher Wu Changshuo, who lived in Jiqingli of the North Railway Station for 14 years and died here. In order to fully tap the historical and cultural resources of the North Railway Station, while launching a number of cultural brands such as children's Peking Opera, Wu Changshuo Haipai culture, and comic strip cultural brands, the streets of the North Railway Station promote traditional culture into communities, buildings, business circles, and schools, and carry forward the charm of traditional culture. In the future, with the help of the traditional culture inheritance center, the north station street will let traditional culture and art take root in the community, go deep into the community, and cover more people.
