"The inheritance of intangible cultural heritage must walk on two legs, the protection of inheritance is the 'first leg', and the innovative use is the 'second leg'." Shi Liping, a deputy to the National People's Congress and head of Fanjingshan Miao Cultural Tourism Product Development Co., Ltd., said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency that in addition to forming a brand effect, non-genetic inheritance must also be "upright and innovative" in order to better go to the world.

Miao embroidery is an embroidery technique inherited by the Miao people in China and a national intangible cultural heritage of China. Miao embroidery in Leishan County, Songtao County and other places in Guizhou Province has different forms and styles.

As the provincial representative inheritor of Miao embroidery, a representative project of China's national intangible cultural heritage, Shi Liping has been insisting on shaping the Miao embroidery brand for 20 years. She said that the current Miao embroidery in Guizhou has not formed a joint force, nor has it a main brand, and is in a state of "the beauty of each other".

Since 2000, Shi Liping has been running for the development of Miao embroidery. She walked more than 30,000 miles to the villages, recorded the history of Miao embroidery, collected Miao embroidery materials, and also led the registration of "Song Peach Miao Embroidery" as a national geographical indication certification trademark of China.

Shi Liping said that we can not only be a watchman, we must consider how to develop, stimulate the endogenous power of intangible cultural heritage, form a brand, and ultimately use industrial development to feed back intangible cultural heritage.

"I am now advocating the development model of 'Miao embroidery +', Miao embroidery can be '+N', such as 'Miao Xiu + clothing'." Shi Liping introduced that a Miao embroidery costume has the dyeing thread of the raw materials of the Chinese herbal medicine board blue root, and this costume can also pull the in-depth development of the industrial chain such as plate blue root planting, weaving, and clothing sales in addition to the miao embroidery itself, and the people also benefit.

Shi Liping believes that the use of intangible cultural heritage is the best development, creativity is the best inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, and intangible cultural heritage comes from all aspects of life. After the "breaking" of intangible cultural heritage, we can re-sort out and innovate a traditional culture that conforms to the aesthetics and connotations of modern people, and only then can intangible cultural heritage come alive.

Shi Liping said that through the creativity and innovation of intangible cultural heritage, leading the needs of development, using modern aesthetics, completing the research and development of the intangible cultural heritage product system, and applying it to the market, so that more people like intangible cultural heritage products. "Developed in this way, intangible cultural heritage is no longer deliberately passed on, but consciously passed on."

Shi Liping pointed out that the inheritors at this stage are more impetuous, and some inheritors are only craftsmen and have not achieved true inheritance. As an inheritor, in addition to having skills, we must also have culture and knowledge. "Now we don't lack craftsmanship, what we lack is talented and cultured."

"Training is a key link, and more skilled talents should be cultivated." Shi Liping believes that the official improvement of the inheritance system through systematic planning, the continuous supply of talents, secondary vocational and technical school students can be used as skilled talents to focus on training.

When the reporter interviewed Shi Liping, in addition to teaching the embroidery skills of the embroidery lady, she was also preparing for the Fifth Session of the 13th National People's Congress.

Shi Liping will make suggestions at this year's meeting: the inheritance and development of national culture should form a brand effect, and at the same time, it is necessary to sort out, promote independent brands, achieve systematization, standardization, scale and internationalization, and better promote intangible cultural heritage to the world.

"The nation is the world, and a needle and a thread are wonderful." As inheritors, we believe that what we inherit is both culture and industry, which can achieve poverty alleviation and help rural revitalization. Shi Liping said. (End)
