Toyota's two compact SUVs sold more than 10,000 units, with The Willanda surpassing the Toyota RAV4 and ranking third with sales of 16,982 units, up 38.4% year-on-year; the Toyota RAV4 ranked fourth, with 13,654 units sold in January, down 30.1% year-on-year.
Volkswagen Tange sales increased from the previous month to 12,187 units, ranking fifth, an increase of 147.6% year-on-year. Toyota Haoying sold 11,071 vehicles, ranking sixth, down 34.5% year-on-year.
In terms of luxury brands, bmw X1 is still the most popular joint venture compact SUV, with sales of more than 10,000 units in January, reaching 10,904 units, down 3.7% year-on-year. Mercedes-Benz GLB sold 5,808 units, down a slight 3.4% year-on-year. In addition, the Cadillac XT4 sold 5212 units, the Lincoln Adventurer sold 4826 units, and the Audi Q3 sold 4128 units.
In addition, the Jetta VS5 sold 8517 units, ranking eighth, down from 10694 units last month, but still achieved good sales results. Volkswagen Tuyue sold 8,452 vehicles, down a lot from 21,491 units last month. The Hyundai ix35 sold 5960 units, ranking tenth, down 29.7% year-on-year.
Recently, a number of new models have also been launched, with Toyota Fenglanda selling 1351 units in the first month, Corolla Ruifang selling 761 vehicles, and Mitsubishi Artuco AIRTREK selling only 48 vehicles. The future sales of these models remain to be tested by the market.
