According to the statistical analysis of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in January 2022, the year-on-year growth rate of passenger car production and sales was higher than that of automobiles, providing strong support for the stable development of the automobile market.
In January 2022, production and sales of passenger cars totaled 2.077 million units and 2.186 million units, down 17.8% and 9.7% sequentially and 8.8% and 6.7% year-on-year.
In January 2022, among the main varieties of passenger cars, compared with the previous month, the production and sales of the four major categories of passenger cars showed a decline, of which the multi-functional passenger car (MPV) and cross-type passenger car fell more significantly; compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of multi-functional passenger cars (MPV) declined slightly, and the other three major types of passenger cars showed growth, of which cross-type passenger cars showed rapid growth, and the growth rate of SUVs was higher than that of cars.
In January 2022, the sales volume of high-end brand passenger cars produced in China reached 381,000 units, an increase of 11.1% year-on-year, which was 4.4 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of passenger cars.
