According to the statistics of tram resources, the total sales volume of new energy logistics vehicles in the first quarter of 2022 was 35,595 units (including 3,514 cross-type passenger cars), and the overall sales volume far exceeded the performance of the same period last year, with a total of 30 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions).

In addition to cross-type passenger cars and heavy trucks, in 2022, a total of 28,500 new energy logistics vehicles were sold in the first quarter, with sales in 271 cities; in 2021, the total sales of new energy logistics vehicles in the first quarter were 14,000 units, sold to 233 cities; in 2020, a total of 4,988 new energy logistics vehicles were sold in the first quarter, with a total of 148 cities.

Regional market: "the main battlefield" Guangdong sits firmly in the identity of "large sales province"

In 2009, the state officially launched the "Ten Cities and Thousand Vehicles" demonstration project, marking the beginning of China's new energy vehicle era, and the development of new energy vehicles is also the only way for China to move from an automobile power to an automobile power. According to the statistics of tram resources, in the first quarter of 2022, new energy logistics vehicles were sold in 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country, of which the top ten provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions were: Guangdong, Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Henan, Zhejiang, Hainan, Shaanxi, Guangxi and Hunan.

According to the data, Guangdong Province had the highest sales volume of 7578 vehicles, accounting for 26.6% of the total sales of new energy logistics vehicles in the first quarter, and also ranked first in the championship for three consecutive years. Sichuan Province sold 3412 vehicles, accounting for 11.98% of the total sales of new energy logistics vehicles in the first quarter, ranking second. Sales in Chongqing reached 1,961 units, accounting for 6.88% of the total sales of new energy heavy-duty trucks in the first quarter, ranking third. The sales volume of New Energy Logistics Vehicles in Guangdong, Sichuan and Chongqing reached 12,951 units, with a total market share of 45.46%.

From the first quarter of 2020-2022, the main application cities of Guangdong Province have changed from Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan to Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, Guangdong is the largest province for migrant workers in the mainland, with a developed economy, many employment opportunities, more population, factory demand, moving demand, employment demand, policy promotion, etc., to promote the rapid development of the new energy logistics vehicle market, new energy logistics vehicles are becoming more and more popular. Initially, more than 90% of the market in Sichuan Province was in Chengdu, but now, the market is spreading outward to Aba Prefecture and Ziyang City. Chongqing's furniture distribution, building materials transportation and other fields give priority to the application of new energy logistics vehicles.

Share of third-tier cities halved Which cities have changed?

Looking at the sales volume and market share of new energy logistics vehicles in the first quarter of the past three years, it can be seen that the market share of first-tier cities is about 20%, and the highest market share is 26.75% in 2021. The market share of new first-tier, third-tier and below cities has increased year-on-year.

In the first quarter of 2022, a total of 49 cities in first-tier, new first-tier and second-tier cities accounted for a total of 76.46%, compared with 84.91% in the same period last year. The market share of third-tier, fourth- and fifth-tier cities in the first quarter was 23.54%, an increase of 8.5% year-on-year.

At the same time, tram resources noted that the market share of third-tier cities in the first quarter of 2022 fell by nearly 10 percentage points compared with 2020. Through observation, it was found that among the 70 third-tier cities, some cities saw a sharp increase in sales, such as Shantou, Sanya, Haikou and other cities; but there were also many cities whose sales decreased sharply, such as Xiangyang City, Cangzhou City and other cities; there were also cities that achieved a "breakthrough of 0" in sales, such as Maoming City, Qingyuan City, Jingzhou City, etc., with good sales.

The change in the share of each tier city means that the layout of the new energy logistics vehicle market changes, except for the third-tier cities, the share of the remaining cities has increased slightly compared with 2020, and the market for new energy logistics vehicles will also be more extensive and the popularity will be stronger.

Without exception, first-tier cities and new first-tier cities are still the main sales cities of new energy logistics vehicles and are key regional markets.

Model analysis: Hot cities for each model

Tram resource sales data show that from the perspective of model classification, in the first quarter of 2022, micro-surface, micro-truck, and Haishi models are all pure electric technical routes, while light trucks have electric (including pure electric, power exchange), fuel cells, and hybrid three technical routes on sale.

In the field of urban distribution, as a good tool that can be attacked and defended, the new energy micro-surface can freely shuttle through the streets and alleys of the city, with a higher degree of application and a market share of 63.93%. The main sales cities are Shenzhen (2604 vehicles), Guangzhou (1505 vehicles), Foshan City (1298 vehicles) and so on.

New energy micro-trucks have been widely used in major industries with their own performance advantages, and the main sales cities are Chengdu (936 vehicles), Chongqing (644 vehicles), Haikou City (248 vehicles) and so on.

New energy light trucks have always been the "hot models" that drivers and dealers pay attention to, with their own heat, and they are also models that have three technical routes in addition to logistics heavy trucks. The main sales cities are Chengdu (730 vehicles), Beijing (222 vehicles), Zhengzhou City (189 vehicles) and so on.

The new energy Haishi has the advantage of large car length space, and is more popular in Changsha (267 vehicles), Chongqing (172 vehicles), Xi'an City (149 vehicles) and other cities.

At present, not only light trucks have power replacement models, but also 3 new models have appeared in the 355 batches of new car announcements, and the listing is just around the corner.

City analysis: Shenzhen ranks first

From the analysis of city sales, the top 10 new energy logistics vehicles sold in the first quarter of 2022 are: Shenzhen (2862 units), Chengdu (2547 vehicles), Chongqing (1961 vehicles), Guangzhou (1766 vehicles), Foshan (1494 vehicles), Xi'an City (943 vehicles), Changsha (891 vehicles), Zhengzhou City (852 vehicles), Haikou City (822 vehicles), Shanghai (791 vehicles).

The total sales volume of the TOP10 cities was 14,929 units, accounting for 52.40% of the total sales of new energy heavy-duty trucks in the first quarter.

Each city has different core application scenarios and characteristics, and the new energy logistics vehicle models sold have their own emphases. Tram Resources analyzed the sales of models in the top three cities, as follows:

Shenzhen: A model city for green development. The large-scale application of new energy logistics vehicles in Shenzhen not only benefits from the support of the government, but more importantly, the Shenzhen market economy is highly prosperous, and the overall growth of the logistics industry is better, laying a foundation for the promotion and application of new energy logistics vehicles.

Shenzhen sold 2,862 new energy logistics vehicles in the first quarter of 2022, with the main models mainly micro-surface (2604 units), accounting for 90.99%; followed by Haishi (111 units), accounting for 3.88%; light trucks (87 vehicles), accounting for 3.04%.

Chengdu City: The government has proposed that in 2020 and later years, it will no longer issue fuel truck entry permits, and clearly accelerate the construction of new energy charging (replacing) and hydrogenation infrastructure, and by 2022, Chengdu will add no less than 350 charging (changing) power stations and no less than 20,000 charging piles.

In the first quarter of 2022, Chengdu sold 2547 new energy logistics vehicles, the main model was micro truck (936 units), accounting for 36.75%; followed by micro-surface (778 units), accounting for 30.55%; light trucks (730 vehicles), accounting for 28.66%.

Chongqing Municipality: Launch favorable policies such as unlimited travel of new energy vehicles, operating subsidy incentives, and "moderate advance" in the construction of charging and replacing facilities, and vigorously promote the application of new energy vehicles.

In the first quarter of 2022, Chongqing sold 1,961 new energy logistics vehicles, the main models of which were micro-surface (939 units), micro-trucks (644 units), and light trucks (178 vehicles).
