On February 20, Soochow University officially opened the anti-epidemic psychological assistance hotline 0512-67168525, 0512-67160093. More than 100 psychological counseling experts wait by the telephone from 8:00 to 24:00 every day to answer consultations from citizens and friends.

Tao Xinhua, supervisor of the Psychology Center of Soochow University, said: "Because the Psychology Center of Soochow University originally had the function of coordinating the mental health work of more than 30 universities in suxichang area. The teachers were all positively responsive, and we recruited more than 100 volunteers at once. The teachers we have chosen are also relatively experienced, especially when Wuhan is fighting the epidemic, many of the teachers on duty have participated in the assistance. ”

Tao Xinhua introduced that the two hotlines use cloud call technology to work synchronously at the same time, and 10 experts wait online every day to answer. Fixing specialists at fixed periods of the week to achieve professionalism and continuity in psychological counseling. On the first day of the hotline, the counselors received calls from quarantined citizens and students at Soviet universities. Most of the types of counseling problems are related to the inadaptability of living in isolation, the interaction between home online classes and family members, and the pressure of scientific research, which are normal psychological stress responses under the changes of the epidemic. Assessed by counsellors as not being a crisis, they also underwent routine supportive psychological interventions.
