The book "Investigation of Jinan Revolutionary Sites", compiled by Jinan Archaeological Research Institute and published by Linebound Bookstore, was officially published recently and distributed nationwide.
Jinan is a city with a long history and a glorious revolutionary tradition. As the capital of Shandong Province and the political, economic and cultural center, Jinan is one of the first six regions in the country to establish party organizations, the birthplace of Shandong party organizations, and the main front for the creation of early party organizations and revolutionary activities by Wang Gemei and Deng Enming, a major representative of the CPC. Jinan has rich resources of revolutionary sites, and the Jinan revolutionary sites embody the glorious history of the Communist Party of China, are the material carrier of revolutionary culture, fully embody the great sacrifices and important contributions made by the military and people of Jinan to national independence and national rejuvenation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and are an important physical carrier for carrying forward the national spirit, the spirit of arduous struggle, and the spirit of patriotism.
In order to celebrate this important moment, the 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Jinan Archaeological Research Institute completed the first systematic survey of the Jinan Revolutionary Site in the first half of 2021, and launched the "New Journey of Striving for a Hundred Years of Struggle and Setting Sail on a New Journey to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China - Jinan Revolutionary Sites Theme Photo Exhibition" based on the results of the investigation. This exhibition is one of the "100 Revolutionary Venues Featured Exhibition" launched by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Shandong Province, and is also one of the series of activities of "10 batches to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC" of the Jinan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism. The exhibition began on May 18, 2021, and has been carried out in ten places such as Shandong Experimental Primary School, Jinan Archaeological Museum, and Licheng District Museum, which has achieved positive response and has become a red theme exhibition for publicizing revolutionary culture and carrying out party history education in Jinan with great professional characteristics and wide coverage.
In order to continue the good effect of this exhibition and do a good job in the transformation of the results of the exhibition, the Jinan Archaeological Research Institute decided to collect the results of the investigation of the revolutionary sites into a book, select a total of 68 representative revolutionary sites, record and summarize the geographical location, historical evolution, value significance and protection and utilization status of the revolutionary sites in the form of pictures and texts, and further publicize and display the resources of the city's revolutionary sites in the form of books, and present gifts for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party.
In order to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the contents of this book, the writers traveled more than 6,000 kilometers in six months, overcame many difficulties, and conducted field investigations of the revolutionary sites involved in the book. During the investigation period, the writers overcame difficulties such as the wide area of investigation, the long itinerary, the concealment of some revolutionary sites, the danger of roads in mountainous areas, etc., and excavated the connotation of revolutionary history and culture behind the revolutionary sites through means such as literature consultation, field visits, and current situation investigations, and recorded in detail the types, volume, characteristics, protection and utilization of revolutionary sites through photographs, videos, aerial photography, and current situation surveying and mapping.
According to reports, this book is the first systematic investigation and research on the site of the Red Revolution in Jinan City, a true record of the historical changes of the Revolutionary Site in Jinan over the past hundred years, a positive role in promoting the propaganda of the revolutionary site and the popularization of revolutionary culture, and an important basic role in the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. It is hoped that through this book, readers will be able to further understand and familiarize themselves with these existing revolutionary sites in Jinan, as well as the profound revolutionary history behind them, and draw strength from them to continue to forge ahead.
