Looking back on 2021, we have been impressed by a number of events in the ICT field. In the spring of 2021, after the "two sessions", "double carbon" has become a national hot word, green and low-carbon development will surely bring about a major transformation of social economy, with digital technology to drive new ways of life and production, to help build a resource-saving and environment-friendly society has become the consensus of the whole society, and the goal of empowering the digital economy to double carbon has been elevated to a national strategy. In the summer of 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with the Central Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission and other ten departments, issued the "5G Application "Sail" Action Plan (2021-2023)", focusing on promoting 5G applications in 15 industries in the three major areas of information consumption, real economy and people's livelihood services, and planning to initially form a 5G innovative application system in three years to promote the comprehensive transformation of the traditional real economy to the digital economy. In the fall of 2021, the global technology community set off a wave of "meta-universe" boom. It is conceivable that the traditional social network will gradually evolve into a colorful metaverse that supports virtual social networking, entertainment and work, people's work and life can be freely switched between the real world and multiple parallel metaversms, human activities will gradually expand to the virtual world, and human economic activities based on the metacosm will be a new space for the digital economy. In the winter of 2021, the data showed that there were more than 1.3 million 5G base stations and 497 million 5G end users. On the one hand, based on ZTE's own network cloud capabilities, basic software and self-developed chips, it will build a digital transformation foundation. On the other hand, while strengthening ZTE's own digital transformation, it also actively contributes to the digital practice of the industry.

"In recent years, we have worked with operators and industry chain partners to provide digital solutions and services for industry customers. In 15 industries such as electronic manufacturing, iron and steel, metallurgy, mining, electric power, rail transit, ports, new media, cultural tourism, etc., more than 60 innovative demonstration applications have been carried out, and good results have been achieved. At the beginning of the new year of 2022, there are constantly positive news at the policy level. The State Council issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Digital Economy", which clarified the guiding ideology, basic principles, development goals, key tasks and safeguard measures for promoting the healthy development of the digital economy during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The National Development and Reform Commission and other departments jointly issued a notice agreeing to start the construction of national computing power hub nodes in 8 places, including Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the Yangtze River Delta, and planned 10 national data center clusters. The national integrated big data center system completed the overall layout design, and the "East Number West Calculation" project was officially launched. The favorable policy level injects a "cardiotonic agent" into the development of the industry.

With the blessing of favorable policies, the digital economy will be promoted to a new level, and the digital transformation of enterprises will usher in rapid development. At present, the general public has personally experienced the ultra-high bandwidth Internet experience of hundreds of megabytes brought by 5G networks, but this is actually the beginning of 5G to change society. Compared with traditional networks, 5G networks provide dozens of times the bandwidth access speed for each user, and the network energy efficiency of 5G networks (the energy consumed by transmitting each bit) has also increased by more than ten times, and the total traffic has increased several times, but the operator's operation and maintenance manpower has not increased too much, and even the price of 5G packages per GIgabyte has dropped significantly, which is behind the digital technology represented by cloud technology, AI, and big data.

In ZTE's view, industry digitalization and digital transformation have become the "must-answer questions" of every enterprise in all walks of life. According to the statistics of the "White Paper on the Innovation and Development of 5G Applications" of the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology, since the commercial use of 5G in China for two years, the national 5G innovation applications have covered 22 important industries of the national economy, and commercial landing has been achieved in 138 steel enterprises, 194 power enterprises, 175 mines and 89 ports. This year, under the guidance of the "5G Application "Sail" Action Plan (2021-2023)", we will focus on promoting the in-depth digital application of 5G in the real economic fields such as industrial Internet, Internet of Vehicles, smart logistics, smart ports, smart mining, smart power, smart oil and gas, smart agriculture and smart water conservancy. The digital transformation of thousands of industries by 5G and digital technology will eventually achieve the emerging digital economy, thus promoting the leapfrog progress of China's national economy in the 21st century.

Stabilize the "first curve" and develop the "second curve"
