The opening ceremony of the 5G acceleration port of Yuelushan University Science and Technology City (hereinafter referred to as "Dake City") was held in Changsha on the 12th, focusing on the application and empowerment of 5G technology in more than 30 scenarios in 11 industries such as advanced manufacturing, smart transportation, smart education, and smart medical care.
As one of the key infrastructures in the era of digital economy, 5G is an important foundation for promoting a new round of technological and industrial revolution. 5G convergence applications have become an important engine to promote the digitalization, networking and intelligent transformation of the economy and society.
Xiong Chen, chief economist of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hunan Province, introduced that in 2021, more than 30,000 new 5G base stations will be built in Hunan, with a total of 56,000 5G base stations built, and the main urban areas of 14 cities and prefectures in the province and the main urban areas of all county-level administrative districts will achieve 5G network coverage. Of the 100 landmark projects of the province's "digital new infrastructure" implemented for two consecutive years, 5G projects accounted for 28, with a total investment of more than 14.8 billion yuan.

In recent years, Hunan has increased the cultivation of 5G application industry, and introduced a number of key projects such as 5G intelligent terminal industrial park and 5G high-end manufacturing base. The field of 5G product manufacturing has gathered nearly 30 backbone enterprises of more than 3 billion yuan, and the scale of the province's 5G core industries (communication services and equipment manufacturing) exceeds 100 billion yuan.
In terms of expanding application scenarios, Hunan continues to focus on the fields of industrial Internet and Internet of Vehicles, and cultivates 4 batches of 90 provincial-level 5G typical application scenarios, including Valin Xianggang remote equipment control project, hunan Unicom and Changsha Emergency Management Bureau jointly built the country's first land-air integrated 5G + UAV integrated management platform.
The 5G Acceleration Port is the first project of Dake City to develop the 5G application industry, and it is also an important platform to support and develop the application of 5G technology and create a 5G industry ecology. Up to now, Dakecheng 5G Acceleration Port has settled 56 enterprises covering 5G+ big data, artificial intelligence, finance, environmental protection and other fields.
The event released a list of 30 approved 5G typical application scenarios in Hunan Province in 2021, and awarded medals to representatives of 10 units. Dakecheng signed a contract with 6 enterprises, including China Mobile and Huawei, on 5G cooperation projects; 7 units, including China Electricity Industrial Internet Co., Ltd. and China United Network Communications Co., Ltd. Research Institute, signed a contract on the "5G+ Industrial Internet Application Joint Laboratory".
In the future, Dake City will further focus on the 5G application industry, implement the "Five Ones" project (a number of new research and development institutions, a science and technology innovation fund, a number of application promotion scenarios, an application innovation base, a 5G technology display center), and strive to create the first 5G innovation base, 5G application industry incubation acceleration base and display center in Hunan, and strive to build an important 5G application innovation industry development base and 5G ecological chain platform in the central region and even in China.
Xiong Chen said that the "14th Five-Year Plan" is a critical period for the large-scale deployment of China's 5G network, and it is also a period of rapid development of 5G application scenarios and industrial ecology in Hunan Province, and the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology will adhere to the network first, build and use at the same time, accelerate the advanced deployment of 5G infrastructure, study and formulate 5G industry development action plans, build 5G collaborative innovation platforms, etc., and fully promote the development of 5G applications.
