More than 100 testing equipment were shipped from Shenzhen to the "FireEye" laboratory in Hong Kong.

Recently, the Olmikron variant strain has caused a new wave of outbreaks in Hong Kong, and it has become a top priority to fight the epidemic together. At this time, the "FireEye Laboratory" developed by the Shenzhen enterprise Huada Group appeared in Hong Kong again, and the employees of Shenzhen Huada went to Hong Kong for the first time to provide support.

As an employee with rich anti-epidemic experience, Shenzhen BGI Gene Tang Jiansheng is the first batch of people to help Hong Kong fight the epidemic. He was supposed to take a leave of absence to reunite with his family, but he and the team did not hesitate to leave. Escorted by the "Shenzhen Speed", Tang Jiansheng got the relevant documents and went to Hong Kong to help fight the epidemic on the second day after receiving the task. Subsequently, BGI Group urgently deployed more than 200 employees and more than 100 of the world's leading anti-epidemic testing equipment from the mainland to Hong Kong, which means that the "FireEye" laboratory was established at a fairly fast pace.

Tang Jiansheng has been responsible for the delivery of the "FireEye" laboratory in Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Foshan and Xiamen, and the "Shenzhen Speed" of chi aid to Hong Kong this time made this senior anti-epidemic personnel deeply sigh: the speed of colleagues going all out to build the "FireEye" laboratory in Hong Kong, the speed of the Yantian entry and exit staff to apply for relevant documents for the chi aid personnel, and the extremely fast customs clearance speed of instruments and equipment in Shenzhen Customs have become the key to the rapid use of the FireEye laboratory to help Hong Kong fight the epidemic.

The day after receiving the task, I got the relevant documents for going to Hong Kong

Tang Jiansheng joined Shenzhen BGI Gene Co., Ltd. in 2009 and was the delivery leader of the Hong Kong "FireEye" laboratory, and he was the delivery leader of the BGI Hong Kong laboratory from 2016 to 2019. After the outbreak of the epidemic, he was responsible for the delivery of the Saudi "FireEye" laboratory, the Foshan "Fireeye" laboratory, and the Xiamen "Fireeye" laboratory, and was a "senior" anti-epidemic personnel.

"The restart of the Hong Kong 'FireEye' laboratory is very fast, and it only took 10 hours to complete the construction." Tang Jiansheng introduced that on February 14, the 16th cabin of the Chinese atmospheric membrane "FireEye" laboratory was deployed at the Ma On Shan Stadium in Hong Kong.

The first intuitive impression of the "Fire Eye" laboratory of the Chinese atmospheric membrane is the huge white air film, and these "anti-epidemic whites" give people confidence and strength. When Hong Kong built the air film "fire eye" laboratory, it used BGI's air film material reserves in Hong Kong, and Shenzhen also quickly transported materials to Hong Kong, "BGI has already deployed sufficient strategic reserves in Hong Kong before, and BGI gene headquarters in Shenzhen, the allocation of resources will be relatively rapid", Tang Jiansheng told Nandu reporter, from Shenzhen emergency allocation of anti-epidemic resources to Hong Kong has been fully supported by Shenzhen Customs. With the assistance of Shenzhen Customs, the relevant equipment was able to arrive in Hong Kong quickly, which greatly accelerated the process of putting into use the "FireEye" laboratory in Hong Kong.

In addition to the deployment of related equipment, BGI also quickly gathered more than 200 employees to fight the epidemic in Hong Kong, including equipment engineers, laboratory operators, experimenters, construction engineers, on-site safety support personnel, etc. Tang Jiansheng explained that because the "FireEye" laboratory is an integrated and integrated solution, in order to better help Hong Kong rapidly improve its testing capabilities, BGI gives priority to employees with rich anti-epidemic experience to help fight the epidemic, which can ensure that Shenzhen's anti-epidemic experience can be better applied to Hong Kong's anti-epidemic. "I was the first batch of people to pass, and the handling of relevant licenses has also received strong support from Yantian District. Usually, it takes 14 working days to process the Hong Kong and Macao Permit, but this time I got the relevant documents the day after receiving the task, which greatly accelerated the process of handling the permits, with the help and support of all parties. Tang Jiansheng lamented the efficiency of Shenzhen.

Deploy and commission 50 of the world's top equipment in 6 days

The equipment shipped by BGI Group from Shenzhen to Hong Kong is also the world's leading cutting-edge equipment, which is manufactured by BGI Intelligent Manufacturing, including MGISP-960 high-throughput automated sample preparation system, automatic MGISTP-7000 sub-cup processing system and MGISP-NE384 automatic nucleic acid extraction and purification instrument.

Complex codes are not easy to understand, but their data is amazing, such as mgISP-NE384 automatic nucleic acid extraction and purification instrument, which can complete the nucleic acid extraction and purification of 384 samples in 15 minutes at the same time, and extract more than 10,000 samples in 24 hours, that is to say, in the 10-mix 1 sampling method, the extraction flux of 100,000 people per day can be reached. This fully automatic nucleic acid extraction and purification instrument is the world's first single-machine daily flux exceeding 10,000 nucleic acid extraction and purification instruments put into actual combat, and has played an important role in the fight against the epidemic in many places.

Since February 9, local engineers in Hong Kong have rushed to the scene for the first time, and then engineers deployed from Shenzhen have also arrived quickly, and everyone has been up all night, and it took only 6 days to complete the installation and commissioning of more than 50 automated equipment.

Xiaowang is a new anti-epidemic recruit from BGI Intelligent Manufacturing, a subsidiary of BGI Group. "We received news of Hong Kong's need for support during the Spring Festival, and our colleagues in the team actively signed up. Due to the need to apply for relevant documents and certificates, I arrived in Hong Kong on the 13th from Shenzhen and joined three local colleagues in Hong Kong in the fight against the epidemic. Our engineers are responsible for the installation and commissioning of equipment, test verification and fault handling, and after continuous combat, smoothly deliver the required equipment. We work in two shifts, work closely together, and escort the COVID-19 nucleic acid test 24 hours a day," Xiaowang said, saying that he had previously participated in the anti-epidemic work in Suzhou, Anhui, Dongxing, Shenzhen and other places.

Shenzhen and Hong Kong staff joined hands to fight the epidemic

The Hong Kong "FireEye" laboratory, which was put into use on February 15, not only has the staff of BGI headquarters chi aid, the staff of BGI Gene's Huasheng Diagnostic Center, but also recruits 100-200 local support personnel in Hong Kong, which is also a detail that Tang Jiansheng is more impressed. He originally imagined that due to the difference between Cantonese and Mandarin, the training and work coordination of the auxiliary staff might require a lot of running-in, but to his surprise, these auxiliary personnel and the laboratory team ran into each other very quickly, without any language barrier. Tang Jiansheng remembered that there was a work very hard, the need to carry equipment and heavy objects, I thought it would be unclaimed, but the task was just proposed, immediately there was a Hong Kong auxiliary staff to take the initiative to stand up, in the subsequent work, he did not once complain about this "strenuous" work, "their enthusiasm, investment is the key, Valentine's Day, Lantern Festival, everyone spent together." ”

Tang Jiansheng remembers that on the first day in Hong Kong, when nearby residents and police saw them sorting out materials, many people would take the initiative to come over and ask, "Can we help anything?" That urgent and enthusiastic tone and attitude left a deep impression on the staff in Shenzhen.

At 00:00 on February 15, the Chinese atmospheric membrane "FireEye" laboratory located in the Ma On Shan Stadium in Hong Kong was put into use. Its single-day testing capacity will be gradually increased to 100,000 single tubes, and the single-day testing capacity of Hong Kong will be increased to 300,000 single tubes, which will greatly enhance Hong Kong's nucleic acid testing capacity for new crown pneumonia. In August 2020, BGI Hong Kong's "FireEye" laboratory was used for the first time at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park Gymnasium in Hong Kong, providing a strong backing for the testing of new crown pneumonia. Previously, during the operation of BGI's "FireEye" laboratory in Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, visited 11 times. BGI Hong Kong FireEye Laboratory is also the only medical laboratory to win the "Hong Kong Best Enterprise Award 2022 "Largest Medical Laboratory Testing Service".
