Why can't it be fully revealed? The most fundamental reason is that no reliable direct supporting data has been unearthed to confirm the previous conjectures.
What were your previous conjectures? 1. Sanxingdui unearthed ivory, there are two theories, one is that more than 3,000 years ago in Sichuan, there were elephants living, so those tusks are Sanxingdui people hunting native elephants, taking their tusks as sacrifices to the heavens.
This claim cannot be proved at present, because as far as the information currently available is concerned, it cannot be proved that there were elephants in Sichuan thousands of years ago.
If it is said that tens of thousands of years ago or even hundreds of thousands of years ago in Sichuan, there were elephants, it must be believed, but thousands of years ago was too close, the climate is not suitable for elephants to survive, and various literature records can not be 100% certain that there is such an animal as an elephant.
Second, ivory is transported from Southeast Asia and South Asia. There is a problem with this statement, Sichuan was relatively closed at that time, surrounded by mountains on all sides, flat in the middle, and a basin shape.
Therefore, the middle is low, the four sides are high, and the southern part of Sichuan is also a rugged mountain road, and it is not easy to go out. If you want to go to the south of Yunnan-Guizhou or even Southeast Asia, there will be several provinces in the middle, and these large southern provinces were not developed at that time, and they were all primitive forests.
Sanxingdui people are not far away, through the high mountains and obstacles, through the deserted primeval forest, one is the primitive transportation, the second is the beast on the road, and the third is whether the vast mountains will get lost.
What methods did they use to achieve mutual exchanges and exchanges with these areas?
These questions cannot be answered by cultural relics alone, and they need to be documented, but at present, no text has been found in this excavation.
2. The bronze bottle excavated by Sanxingdui this time looks the same as the bottle in the Central Plains.
Bottle, in the Central Plains culture, is a large and medium-sized container for wine. Sanxingdui also has the same thing, is it also used to hold wine? Did sanxingdui people also master the brewing technology? If their uses are the same and their cultural connotations are the same, is there any interaction between Sanxingdui and the Central Plains culture?
Suppose they have a relationship, and here's the problem. The northern part of Sichuan is a cliff and cliff, which is a natural danger. In the Warring States Period, when Qin destroyed Bashu, it was only when a boardwalk was excavated from the cliffs on a large scale that a road to the Shu kingdom was created.
Sanxingdui that era, still in the primitive tribal form of the Bronze Civilization Era, primitive tools, primitive transportation, how did they go out to have contact with the Central Plains, and how did the Central Plains people enter Shu?
We can speculate that they really had contacts, but this is only speculation, there is no direct evidence to support their interaction, and there is no direct evidence that they have a special way out of Shu or into Shu.
There are many other conjectures and speculations about Sanxingdui, all of which are only speculative at present, because without excavating words, many problems cannot be effectively proved.
This time excavation, although a large number of cultural relics have been unearthed, but in fact, the duplication with the original cultural relics is very high, such as ivory, the original has, the bronze bottle originally had, the gold mask also had before...
Most importantly, the text has not been dug up, so I think that those puzzles, those conjectures, may have further new speculations, but the puzzles still cannot be solved.
