Everyone must remember the earliest edition published by the People's Literature Publishing House, and I read this edition, the edition I was holding in my hand, and this was the earliest first edition. The cover of this version can evoke a lot of memories, but the one I first read has been completely destroyed by me, so it remains in my home in Fujian.

Ever since they said you wear glasses that look like Harry Potter, I've looked at Harry Potter even more wildly, and I've seen myself short-sighted, so I've become what I am now. That version left us with very, very many memories at the time, but that version had a lot of deviations in translation.
In the past ten years, Harry Potter has accompanied me to grow up, and I have changed a lot. For example, I went from a middle school student living in Fujian to a young university teacher who is now engaged in teaching and academic research in Beijing.
For example, at that time, my school had such a special situation, and my Chinese teacher in my third year of high school was especially like Umbridge. When I was in high school, my Chinese class was very similar to the Defence Against the Dark Arts class at Hogwarts, and my Language teacher changed four times in three years, which was very similar to the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Harry Potter in Hogwarts, who changed seven Defence Against the Dark Arts in seven years, and I changed four Language teachers in three years. My first time in high school, my Chinese teacher was a very enlightened teacher, and the first time I played cosplay was with his help and guidance to participate in a poetry reading contest at our school, I created a poem in memory of Sirius, bought a Harry Potter cosplay gear, and completed my first cosplay performance in my life. But the Chinese teacher I met in my third year of high school was more peculiar, and he said this sentence: When the third year of high school comes, you can't read a long novel, don't let me see that you are still reading a long novel when you reach the third year of high school. When I was in my third year of high school, it was the 05-06 school year, and you know what happened in 2005? "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was published, and I could only carry the Chinese teacher behind my back, and many classmates, partners, and friends in the class secretly watched the latest translation of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" by Ma Ainong and Ma Aixin of the Humanities Society.

So, at that time, "Harry Potter" was something that a lot of teachers wouldn't let us read or suppress us, and they said, these are all extracurricular books, or some kind of weird books, and you don't have a job reading them. In the past few years, the Humanities Society has produced many editions, and the one that impressed me the most is the one in my hand, which is the special commemorative edition of the fifteenth anniversary, and in 2015, the Humanities Society came out with this version. The cover of this edition is very beautiful, and I especially like the style of the cover, which has a very two-dimensional feeling of the character setting and visual presentation of the background. This is a version that I really like, the fifteenth anniversary version, and the baby at the bottom of my house, and I'm here to show off to you, here's J.K. This version is a particularly good-looking version that came out of the Humanities Society, the 15th anniversary edition in 2015, and it has a very beautiful visual design. However, since it is a special commemorative edition for the fifteenth anniversary, it is only sold in 2015. Moreover, at that time, the People's Literature Publishing House had not yet made a very unified revision of the Chinese translation of "Harry Potter", so later the Humanities Society launched a new version of "Harry Potter" in 2017 and 2018, and these new versions of "Harry Potter", including the collector's edition in 2017, had some new revisions to the translation.

Then there's the paperback edition of the 7-volume paperback that came out in 2018. What is the difference between this version and the two versions we are more familiar with before? On the one hand, this new version inherits the translations of the predecessor teachers of the Humanities Society, and most importantly, it is a very meticulous revision of the words from "Ha Yi" to "Ha Vii" by Ma Ainong from 2015 to 2018.
Original novel 20th Anniversary Academy Edition
Many friends may notice when reading "Harry Potter" that the translators of each part from "Ha Yi" to "Ha Seven" are not very different, for example, the translator of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" is Sunon, Sunon is the combined name of the names of the two translation teachers, "Su" is taken from the name of the very senior translator Cao Suling, and "Nong" is the teacher Ma Ainong, who we are particularly familiar with. In 2000, when "Harry Potter" was first introduced, the Humanities Society asked Teacher Cao Suling to take over and set such a tone for the translation. The first half of Ha Yi is translated by Teacher Cao Suling, and the second half is translated by Teacher Ma Ainong. In the next few books, there are Mr. Ma Ainong, Ma Aixin, Mr. Zheng Xumi (the translator of "Prisoner of Azkaban"), and Mr. Cai Wen, who translated the fifth book "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" together with Ma Ainong and Ma Aixin, because "The Order of the Phoenix" is particularly thick, and it is also my favorite one.
So five teachers have all participated in the translation of the Harry Potter translation, which leads to a situation where the two versions that have been published before, their text style and some specific words and wording, are difficult to completely unify. In 2017, as the most important translator of the "Harry Potter" series, Ms. Ma Ainong made a unified revision of all the texts from "Ha Yi" to "Ha Qi", and this revision work was completed by many Ha fan readers and younger editors who later entered the People's Literature Publishing House to help her complete it, and even invited many Ha fans from Beijing Foreign Chinese University and Peking University School of Foreign Chinese to complete the text revision work. So, starting with this edition (2018) and the hardcover collector's edition seen on the market, the translation style of the Chinese edition of the "Harry Potter" series is more uniform, and the reading experience has become better than before.
As a small example, many Harry Potter enthusiasts my age, when reading the earliest version of Harry Potter, may notice that there is a place called "High Cone Valley". From "Ha Yi" to "Ha Six", it is mentioned that Harry Potter's parents used to live in the High Conek Valley, that is, the Halloween night event where Harry Potter became the "Boy who is difficult to die". But in fact, that "High Conek Valley" should be translated as "Godric Valley," the founder of Gryffindor College, named after him. However, when the translation first began, everyone did not have a complete understanding of the overall plot of the book, and Teacher Cao Suling translated it as "Gao Conek Valley" when she first translated it, and it was not until Teacher Ma Ainong translated "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" that the name of the place was changed to "Godric Valley".
These translation teachers have made many important contributions, we see a more elegant Chinese translation, compared with the traditional Chinese version published by the Crown Publishing House in Taiwan, I think the simplified version published by the Humanities Society is easier for us to read in translation, and the literary nature is also higher. At least that's my own opinion, that Draco Malfoy would have sounded better than "Dragging The Goma", and that the names and incantation names of the People's Literature Publishing House were very well translated.
Drag brother
Maybe many friends will have such an experience, when we watched "Harry Potter" when we were young, or rented DVDs, DVDs to watch at home, opened and saw those names, "Miaoli", "Rong En", "Drag Goma Part", especially "Drag Goma Share" This translation shocked my soul when I was a child. So I think the names of the humanities and incantations are better than the traditional Chinese version of The Crown Press. But there are still some such problems inevitably, like "High Cone Valley" should be translated as "Godric Valley", like many very subtle English puns, may not have a complete understanding of the overall plot, structure, character relationships at the time of the first translation, there will be such and such problems.
In 2017 and 2018, the Humanities Society began to make a new revision of the full set of "Harry Potter" Chinese translations, allowing us to see this new version. And its cover is also very interesting, and the design of the gilded title is very good. The pictures on the cover have a feeling of oil painting, which is also something I particularly like. In addition, there is a very important point, is its character design, its character design and the earliest version, the earliest version carries us a lot of feelings, but the earliest version of its painting style is more "American", because it is the cover painting designed by the American publishing house, its character setting, the overall visual style is more American comics. The visual style of this edition is more suitable for a new generation of readers who are influenced by "Japanese" anime. So the visual style of this edition, its cover, really impressed me. You may not know the name I just mentioned, "Miaoli" is Hermione, "Rong" is Ron, and "Drag Brother" is Draco, which is a very interesting translation of Chinese that I have seen in the VCD and DVD traditional Chinese versions before. "Drag Brother" suddenly identifies a certain personality label of the translator's character of Draco Malfoy, allowing you to grasp the typical characteristics of this character, but it is easy for you to have an overly stereotyped impression of this character.
The traditional version has the advantages of the traditional version, and the simplified version also has the advantages of the simplified version, but I prefer the simplified version in terms of reading experience and some very important translations, such as "Sirius", which I especially like. Now that the simplified version has been revised, the text will be closer to the original meaning expressed by J.K. Rowling in English, and the overall text style is more uniform.

Many friends on the Internet began to discuss the translated character names, and "Drag Brother" was really very "dragging" when he introduced himself as "Drag Brother" (laughs), but I think the translated name "Draco" is easier for us to think of its English related to the flying dragon, and the Latin corresponding to this English.

The English-Chinese Edition is a version specially launched by the People's Literature Publishing House in response to the feedback and requests of some teachers, parents, educational institutions and schools in China. This version (English-Chinese) uses the cover of the edition we are most familiar with.
