149- Wu Yu's Definition of Liu Shipei's Poetry and Its Shu Zhongxing Traces Supplement - Liu Shipei's Research Notes (149)

It has been more than a year since I made the "Annotations of Liu Shipei's Poetry Chronicle", and I have been trying to find a relatively short paragraph to summarize and define the characteristics of Liu Shipei's poetry, but I have not figured it out.

Tonight, carefully check the "Diary of Wu Yu", there is a small gain.

149- Wu Yu's Definition of Liu Shipei's Poetry and Its Shu Zhongxing Traces Supplement - Liu Shipei's Research Notes (149)

Wu Yu's diary on May 29, 1912 (April 13, 1912):

Xie Wuliang said that sichuan people are self-conscious and scholars, and Uncle Shen is also yunran.

Uncle Liu Shen was proficient in primary school, and he thought that it was poetry, which was extremely deep and dense, and it was accompanied by a book, which was more reasonable and interesting. It is to know that it is to learn, and to go from the end of the stream to the end, and there are so many and there are not any.

Liu Yiru talked about it, Qu Jinxing had a brilliant semester meeting, took Lao Zhuang as the sect, opposed Confucius, and now has more than 30 members. ("Wu Yu's Diary", P37, Sichuan People's Publishing House, May 1984, 1st edition)

According to Wu Yu, the "ben" of Liu Shipei's poem is "primary school" and "accompanied by a sub-book". Although it cannot fully summarize all the characteristics of Liu Shi, it can explain several of the most fundamental problems -

First, a large number of strange words, strange words, and strange allusions are used. Wu Yu's definition is actually very accurate. When I make notes, the "character book" of the genus of exhortations such as "Shuowen", "Erya", "Guangya", "Class Chapter", "Jade Chapter", "Guangyun", "Jiyun", and so on, is the material that must be prepared at hand.

Second, some poems use a lot of Laozhuang, Daozang, and Shizang contents. This is particularly evident in some of his poems during his reign in Shu. Such as "Ascension to Heaven", "You Immortal Poem", "Yin Atmosphere Chapter", "Eight Funeral Chapters", "Elephant Chapter". According to my analysis, the reason why Wu Yu came to this impression is related to the fact that he only saw liu's poems during the Jushu period, but did not see his earlier poems.

3. A large number of quotations and uses of the contents of the Book of Poetry, chu ci, and anthology. This is also the point that impressed me the most.

In addition, in the article "108 - Several Mysteries of Liu Shipei's Sichuan Distress - Liu Shipei's Research Notes (108)", I deduced from the "Diary of Wu Yu" that the time of Liu Shipei's release after distress was before January 13, 1912. Today, two pieces of information were found in the "Wu Yu Collection" that can prove this theory -

January 13, 1912 (25th day of the winter month of Xinhai): "Liao Jiping and Xie Wuliang talked together to the immeasurable place." Meet Uncle Liu Shen. (Wu Yu's Diary, P14, Sichuan People's Publishing House, May 1984, 1st edition)

Wu Yu's "Autumn Water Collection, Chen Boyan's Original Jingshe Poems" appendices Liu Shipei's "Gift of Aizhi" three poems, which are marked as "November of the Year of Xinhai", that is, December 20, 1911 - January 18, 1912 ("Wu Yu Collection" P283-284, these three poems were published in the "Journal of China" Republished Volume 2, February 1916; in "Liu Shenshu's Testament" 61 volumes (65-66), "Zuo Xi Poems" Volume 3 "Zuo Xi Poetry Sequel".

Wu Yu's diary on April 27, 1912 (March 11, 1912): "The Gongyan Daily published three poems donated by Uncle Liu Shen to Yu Wuyan. (Ibid., P34)

Accordingly, "Shuzhong Gifts Wu Yu (Three Songs)" was first published in the Sichuan "Gongyan Daily" on April 27, 1912. Gongyan Daily, founded in Chengdu on February 25, 1912, was run by the Sichuan branch of the "Unification Party". His chief manager, Sun Shaojing, had friendships with Wu Yu and Liu Shipei. "Gongyan Daily" is more difficult to find, I have not yet found its collection, in the north map did not find. It will take a little time.

During Liu Shipei's stay in Shu, he was closely related to Wu Zhiying (Bo Shu), Liao Ping (Ji Ping), Lin Sijin, Xie Wuliang, Wu Yu and others. The diaries and anthologies of these people may also have records about Liu Shipei's scholarship and deeds, but the academic circles have not yet paid attention to them.

Wu Zhiying has "Wu Zhiying Confucianism", Sichuan University Press, May 2010, 1st edition; Wu Zhiying Poetry Collection, Sichuan University Press, April 2008, 1st edition.

Liao Ping has the Complete Works of Liao Ping, Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, April 2015, 1st edition.

Xie Wuliang has "Xie Wuliang's Collected Writings", Chinese Min University Press, June 2011, 1st edition.

Lin Sijin has "Qing Lonely Hall Collection", the 1st edition of the Bashu Book Society in August 1989.

You should take the time to find it.

I heard that Lin Sijin had 50 manuscripts of the Diary of qingxiaotang, hidden in the hands of his descendants, and has not yet been published. There may also be records of Liu Shipei.
