The report mentioned that in the fourth quarter of 2021, the domestic tablet pc market shipped about 7.42 million units, an increase of 20.9% year-on-year. In terms of the whole year of 2021, the domestic tablet pc market shipments were about 28.46 million units, an increase of 21.8% year-on-year, the highest increase in shipments in the past 7 years.
Prior to this, IDC had made a shipment forecast for the domestic tablet pc market.
It is mentioned that in 2021, the domestic tablet pc market will create the largest year-on-year growth rate since 2013, and is expected to increase by 22.4% throughout the year, with an overall shipment of about 28.6 million units.
Compared with the previous forecast and the actual shipment data, the actual market performance is slightly lower than the forecast report in December last year, but the overall market performance is still good.
Previous forecast analysis showed that the main reason why the tablet market still maintained significant growth was that consumer demand remained at a high level. Consumers' usage habits are gradually formed, and the frequency of use is higher than before. And due to the improvement of the overall market, it has also promoted the attention of various manufacturers to tablet PCs, which in turn has further promoted consumers' desire to buy.
At the same time, the report also analyzes the processor solution and operating system mounting.
According to the data shown in the report, Apple's self-developed chips occupy a share advantage in the domestic tablet processor market in 2021; Qualcomm's share has increased significantly, occupying the second position; Huawei's chips have maintained a certain market share under the pressure of the outside world, ranking among the top three.
In terms of operating systems, Apple's iOS system declined in the fourth quarter of 2021, which was mainly affected by the lack of stock; Windows' share rose significantly in the quarter, mainly due to the corresponding new products from Microsoft and other manufacturers; the Android system still occupied a larger market share.
In addition, in the global market, shipments of tablets in the fourth quarter of 2021 decreased by 11.9% year-on-year to 45.54 million units. Total tablet shipments for the full year of 2021 increased by 2.9% year-on-year to 168 million units, the highest level since 2016.
