The scroll unfolds, "a great river" stretches along the incessant lines, boats shuttle back and forth, and the coastal cities are bustling and bustling, as if you can hear the shouts of the people ... Since 2019, Yang Zhaoqun has planned and initiated the creation of the long paper-engraved scroll "Grand Canal", convening 11 paper-cutting artists who pass through 6 provinces and 2 municipalities directly under the central government of the Grand Canal to show the cultural story of the canal in the form of engraved paper. After the works were exhibited in many places across the country, they received unanimous praise.

The new Guinness World Record-setting 100-meter engraving paper long scroll "Grand Canal" is a secondary collection and creation based on the original version of 50 meters.

According to Yang Zhaoqun, in the process of creating the 100-meter-long scroll, after the artists re-examined, on the basis of the original version, a number of coastal heritage points were added and corrected, and the proportion of characters along the coast was readjusted, and the number of characters also increased a lot, showing the customs and customs of various places in more detail, and presenting the spectacular historical style of the Grand Canal through exquisite portrayal.

Leading the creation of such a "big production", Yang Zhaoqun is not the first time. In 2008, on the eve of the Beijing Olympic Games, a huge paper engraving work with a height of 2.008 meters and a length of 29 meters was unveiled. Set against the backdrop of the 2008 Peace Dove, it showcases the host cities, monograms, gold medals, etc. of previous Olympic Games. The work, which was later collected by the National Museum, was also praised by samaranch, the former president of the International Olympic Committee. This is "From Athens to Beijing" led by Yang Zhaoqun.
