The AMG EQE 53 models come standard with 20-inch rims and are available as options up to 21-inch rims. On the basis of maintaining the traditional design language of AMG, the rim shape has added a certain aerodynamic design for electric models to reduce wind resistance.
The tires use Michelin Pilot Sport EV high-performance tires designed specifically for electric vehicles. The brake system comes standard with a front 6-piston caliper, and the option of carbon-ceramic brakes is only available when the 21-inch rim is selected at the same time due to the larger size of the brake discs.
In terms of rear, it differs only from the EQE 350 model in detail, such as the addition of a dark fixed small tail wing, the increase of the diversion decoration under the rear bumper to three lanes, and the logo of the AMG and EQE 53 on the left and right sides, and the shape of the taillights has not changed compared to the EQE 350.
The interior materials are improved, and the design is still stunning
The interior materials of the EQE 53 continue to use a lot of carbon fiber and Alcantara to highlight the high performance characteristics. The super screen with stunning visual effects is still optional in overseas markets.
The steering wheel grip area is made of Alcantara, and the highlight of the shape is the addition of two function buttons with a small LCD screen below. The right knob selects the driving mode, and the left side is two buttons that can customize the function.
At the same time, as a pure electric high-performance car, it is rare to retain the paddle shifter, but its function is actually to adjust the setting of the kinetic energy recovery force. The AMG logo is added to places such as pedal mats. The AMG button is added to the central control, and the driving mode is increased to the S+ mode.
The seats are shaped like newly designed AMG seats, with the AMG logo and headrest print. Details such as seat materials, door trim panels, contrasting stitching, and seat belt colors are available in a variety of options.
In the electric age, performance goes further
In terms of powertrain, the AMG EQE 53 uses dual permanent magnet synchronous motors at the front and rear, where the rear motors have been optimized by the AMG High Performance Division, especially in terms of heat dissipation, to accommodate stronger performance requirements. Typically, the combined output of the front and rear motors is 460 kW/626 hp and 950 Nm, but if the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS kit for the AMG EQE 53 is optional, it can reach up to 505 kW/687 hp and 1000 Nm in overdrive mode, where the acceleration time of 0-100 is only 3.3 seconds, and the speed can reach 240 km/h. Combined with Mercedes-Benz's exclusive 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system for the high-performance series, the power output ratio of the front and rear axles is 1:2 when delivering maximum power. During normal driving, the system monitors the status of the four-wheel drive system at a frequency of 160 times per second and makes timely adjustments.
In terms of chassis, adaptive air suspension with AMG RIDE CONTROL+ and rear wheel steering are standard, and the body height is reduced by 5 mm compared to the EQE 350 model, and it can be further reduced by 15 mm depending on the driving state. The 50% rigid connection between the rear subframe and the body reduces the connection distance between the components. The stiffness and suspension hardness of the chassis linkage and anti-roll rod have been increased to meet the demands of intense driving.
