Shanghai, 15 Feb (Xinhua) -- At the Baopu Art Museum on the east bank of the Huangpu River in Shanghai's Mother River, the exhibition of works of the International Children's and Adolescents Friendly Exchange Art Competition opened on the 14th. Relevant Chinese and Mexican institutions commemorated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in the form of a children's painting exhibition in Shanghai.

Co-sponsored by the Shanghai Representative Office of the Silk Road International Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General of Mexico in Shanghai, the exhibition brings together nearly 100 paintings created by Chinese teenagers that envision Sino-Mexican friendship for a period of one month.

Carlos Valera, Acting Consul General of Mexico in Shanghai, said at the opening of the children's painting exhibition: "There is nothing more meaningful than celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and China with the artworks of the adolescent generation." Today, children plant small trees with their young brushstrokes, and in the future, these trees will surely bear more fruits of friendship and cooperation. ”

On the evening of the 14th, in the Twin Towers of The Universal Harbor in Puxi, the brilliant lights rendered the pattern of the flags of China and Mexico on the façade of the building. In Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Wuxi, Jiangsu, Hefei, Anhui and other cities in the Yangtze River Delta, lighting activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico were also held that night.

According to the Consulate General of Mexico in Shanghai, so far, there have been friendly relations between Shanghai and Jalisco, Hangzhou and Cancun, Jiangsu Province and Baja California, Anhui Province and Yucatán between China's Yangtze River Delta region and Mexico.
