What is analgesia in childbirth?
Labor analgesia is what we call spinal canal delivery analgesia, which includes epidural anesthesia, lumbar-hard combination anesthesia, and single subarachnoid anesthesia techniques. The most commonly used clinically is epidural anesthesia.
Labor analgesia is not a surgery that every hospital can carry out, it requires a new project of obstetricians, anesthesiologists, midwives to work together and closely, it requires obstetrics to be equipped with a variety of emergency drugs, obstetric anesthesia room, obstetric emergency caesarean section operating room, but also needs a maternal emergency team with sudden accident rescue ability.
The purpose of childbirth analgesia is to minimize maternal pain during labour through effective analgesia techniques during labour. Spinal canal delivery analgesia is the preferred method of analgesia due to its definite analgesic effect and high safety for mothers and babies. Spinal canal delivery analgesia can not only effectively reduce maternal labor pain, but also provide a quick and good anesthesia effect for instrumental midpartum delivery or mid-stage transit caesarean section.
Indications and contraindications to analgesia in childbirth
Indications:
Women voluntarily request that women who can have vaginal trial labour and are very likely to have vaginal delivery after strict evaluation by an obstetrician can be anesthetized and analgesic after being assessed by an anesthesiologist.
contraindication:
The mother does not agree, refuses to sign the informed consent form, the mother is unable to cooperate with the spinal canal puncture, there are contraindications to spinal block, the person is allergic to local anesthetics or opioids, and the pregnant woman has serious neurological diseases or coagulation dysfunction.
Is the analgesia of childbirth good?
The effect of labor analgesia is exact, but it is not a contraction that starts, and if you feel that the pain cannot stand it, you will be given anesthesia analgesia. It has an anesthesia timing, for the mother, usually in the first active stage of labor again to ask the obstetrician and anesthesiologist to jointly assess the possibility of delivery, the family signed the informed consent to anesthesia analgesia.
For menstrual women, anesthesia and analgesia are generally performed after the cervical opening is unfolded during the incubation period of the first stage of labour, the uterine opening is 2.0 cm larger, and the obstetrician and anesthesiologist jointly evaluate it.
After the anesthesia is done and the anesthetic is pumped, do we think that it is enough to wait for the mother to give birth? As long as the mother is quiet and the pain is relieved, don't care about the mother? It would be a big mistake, anesthetized and analgesic women are a special group, they are not the same as the operating room patients, they need the close observation of obstetricians, anesthesiologists and midwives.

Do women who have been anesthetized and analgesic have to lie in bed? Some tired women can lie in bed and rest properly to recover their strength. Some women need to get out of bed to accelerate the progression of labor. They can lie down, squat or stand. You can also sit on the dojo delivery ball and swing left and right or jump up and down. You can eat and drink and go to the bathroom.
The reason why anesthesia analgesia is called walking anesthesia is that an anesthetized women can move at will and can give birth vaginally, but there is a premise that the whole process of companionship of the midwife is required to avoid accidents during the activity, and obstetricians and anesthesiologists are also required to accompany the delivery room.
Is it possible to terminate the anesthesia at the end of delivery? Should the midwife check the cervical vagina in the uterine cavity after the delivery of the complete lesion? Women with perineal lacerations or perineal incisions need to be sutured, and pain will occur during the suturing process, and anesthesia analgesia will be spared from pain.
