Rockets new guard Dennis Schroeder has threatened to lead young backcourt players to win games against the Jazz.

The Houston Rockets are set to challenge the Jazz at the Utah Vivent Smart Arena on Tuesday, and the Rockets' new guard Dennis Schroeder and center Bruno Fernando have already had a joint practice session with teammates in Salt Lake City as they try to adapt to their new teammates and the Rockets' offensive and defensive systems.

Schroeder will also come off the bench against the Jazz, and Rockets head coach Stephen Silas will arrange for Schroeder to lead the bench. At the same time, it is also believed that Schroeder can quickly integrate into the Rockets' tactical system.

The 28-year-old Schroeder has been playing in the NBA for nine seasons and has become a very stable point guard. Seven of those seasons helped teams make it to the playoffs. This season, he averaged 14.4 points and 4.2 assists per game. He was traded with Fernando, Enes Friedman (cut by the Rockets) by the Boston Celtics.

Schroeder joined the Celtics on a one-year veteran contract after rejecting a big contract offered by the Lakers, and wanted to play the price through the Celtics as a springboard and get the opportunity to sign a high-paying contract, but the Celtics eventually gave up. Schroeder himself was surprised and can only put his hopes on the rest of the season.

Rockets guard Dennis Schroeder said his responsibility is to help the Rockets develop a young backcourt and provide better support to Jaylen Green and Kevin Porter.

Head coach Silas and general manager Rafael Stone were looking to bring in him when they decided to trade Schroeder to help the team's defenders develop faster. The offense is sometimes unstable due to the young Rockets' lack of on-field experience. Schroeder is experienced enough to help young core defenders such as Kevin Porter Jr., Jaylen Green and Josh Christopher grow quickly.

Schroeder told reporters after Monday morning's shooting game that he would do everything he could to help the Rockets' young guard master more offensive skills and win more games.

The Houston Rockets began three consecutive road trips in Utah, followed by back-to-back games against the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers to end all games before the 2021-22 All-Star Game.

Do you think the Rockets can beat the Jazz on the road under Schroeder?
