Famous painter Luo Ping'an
On the afternoon of February 11, 2022, the famous painter Luo Ping'an died peacefully at home due to illness at the age of 77.
Luo Ping'an is a member of the Communist Party of China and a painter. Born in April 1945 in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, Huangpi, Hubei Province, he specializes in Chinese painting. In 1966, he graduated from the Secondary School of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, and later studied under Mr. Francis. In 1981, he was appointed deputy director of the Innovation and Research Office of Shaanxi Academy of Chinese Painting and secretary of the Secretariat of Shaanxi Artists Association. He is also the deputy director of the Yulin Regional Cultural Bureau of Shaanxi Province. He is currently a member of the China Artists Association, a visiting professor of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, a standing director of the Shaanxi Provincial Artists Association, a member of the Art Committee, a national first-class artist, a painter of the Shaanxi Chinese Painting Academy, and an "expert with outstanding contributions" awarded by the State Council. His works include "Xue Ji", "Fan Chuan May", "Plateau Late Autumn", and his works "Winter Rhyme", "Residual Body" and "The Dynamic Rhythm of the Plateau" are collected in the National Art Museum of China.

The vision of Luo Ping'an's works falls on the extremely ordinary rural farmhouses and slopes, allowing people to recognize and feel the local history of the northwest that has been passed down from generation to generation. He fills the canvas with almost airtight images, and the land, countryside and crops are vividly remembered, even like a part that is pulled closer by a camera lens, and the details are naked in front of the audience's eyes. This practice of forcing the viewer to look at the existence of objects has rarely been painted before.
