J.D.Power's latest reliability survey was released, and the Korean car beat the Japanese car to win the championship

J.D.Power, a well-known us market research agency, announced the 2022 North American Vehicle Dependability Study, in which Korean brands KIA and Genesis won the championship in the general brand and luxury brand categories respectively, breaking the monopoly of Japanese cars in the past.

J.D. Power new car reliability survey is based on the car for more than 3 years of 2019 owners, for the power system, audio and video system, auxiliary system, driving experience, air conditioning, control buttons, seats, paint, interior and other nine major items, a total of 184 questions to investigate, to every 100 vehicle failures (PP value) as a calculation, the lower the value means that the vehicle problems are less, the higher the reliability.

Among the general brands, KIA took first place with only 145 questions per 100 vehicles (PP value 145), followed by Buick Buick (PP147), Hyundai (PP148), TOYOTA (PP158) and Dogge Dodge (PP166). The average PP value of the reliability survey is 192, and the top 5 are much higher than the average, while Japanese cars including TOYOTA, Lexus, Mazda, and Mitsubishi are above average.

In terms of luxury brands, Genesis won the first place in reliability, and Lexus became the second place with a slight gap.

In terms of luxury brands, Genesis won the first place (PP155), Lexus 2nd (PP159), Porsche 3rd (PP162), and the 4th and 5th places were Cadillac Cadillac (PP168) and Lincoln Lincoln (PP180). As for the reliability of the last seat is the Land Rover (PP284), Ram (PP266) and Volvo (PP256), other below-average Mercedes-Benz, Nissan Nissan, Volkswagen, Infiniti, Honda Honda, Audi Audi and so on.
