The invention of The Twelve Laws was invented along the border between Shaanxi and Henan on the mainland.

The Twelve Laws are divided into two categories: yin and yang:

The six yang laws are Huang Zhong, Tai Tu, Gu Wash, Rui Bin, Yi Ze, and No Shot,

The six yin laws are Da Lu, Jia Zhong, Zhong Lu, Lin Zhong, Nan Gong, and Ying Zhong.

According to legend, the Yellow Emperor founded the Twelve Laws of Lü Tunyang, and it is said that "the Yellow Emperor made music when he was linglun and used LuLu to adjust yin and yang". In the Yellow Emperor's era, the twelve bamboo flutes were arranged in a certain order, the upper nozzle was aligned on one side, and the lower side was of different lengths, like cutting a green onion, leaving a diagonal stubble, and then inserted into the soil.

The longest of these, the nine inches, can blow out the tone of the yellow bell (i.e., C key); the shortest four inches and six minutes can blow out the tone of the bell (i.e., B key). Its general arrangement is as follows: the six bamboo flutes representing the winter solstice to Xiaoman are shorter than one, and the six bamboo flutes representing the summer solstice to the light snow are longer than one. After the light snowfall, the six bamboo flutes representing the winter solstice to Xiaoman are filled with ash burned with reed film. This kind of fly ash is the lightest, called the lily. Generally, these bamboo flutes are buried in the yin mountains in the northwest, and covered with cloth curtains, and built outside the room, absolutely can not blow a little wind, use it to temper the earth. When the winter solstice is born, the ash inside the nine-inch long yellow bell bamboo flute will be blown out by the ground gas, and at the same time make a "buzzing" sound. This sound is called the yellow bell, this time is the sub-moon, and the solar terms are the winter solstice. In other solar terms, the ash in the bamboo flute will also be sprayed accordingly. After the small full, the six bamboo flutes representing the summer solstice to the small full are filled with time, and when the corresponding solar terms are reached, the bamboo flute will spray ash in return. This method of adjusting the solar terms is called "LuLu Tuning Yang".
