Why did Shenzhou 13 choose the Dongfeng landing field?
In fact, when the Shenzhou 12 manned spacecraft returned, this problem has already been mentioned, from the Shenzhou 1 in 1999 to the Shenzhou 11 spacecraft in 2016, whether it is manned or not, the final landing point of the return capsule is the Siziwang Banner, which has always been the main landing field of the mainland manned spaceflight.
At the time of the Shenzhou 12 manned spacecraft mission, the mainland chose the Dongfeng landing field, and shenzhou 13 chose the Dongfeng landing field, which must also have its advantages.
The Dongfeng landing field, located in Ejina Banner, Inner Mongolia, has 20,000 square kilometers, close to Dongfeng Space City (Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center), which has been used as a backup landing field before Shenzhou 12, and after Shenzhou 12, it has been "normalized".
Compared with the Four Sons Banner, the Dongfeng Landing Field also has the characteristics of vast territory and sparse population, and the big difference is that one is a sandy grassland and the other is a desert Gobi, but its own geographical environment conditions are fully in line with the landing requirements.
Secondly, the Dongfeng landing field has more advantages than the Four Sons King Banner in terms of distance, and can quickly achieve "cabin landing", without having to travel thousands of miles to prepare, so it is very good, this is the general situation.
20,000 square kilometers of land, how to search for astronauts?
Since we have the previous experience of Shenzhou 12, for Shenzhou 13, perhaps the biggest bright spot is the increase in "reaction speed".
When Shenzhou 12 returned, the reason why everyone initially worried that it could not make an accurate landing site was mainly because Shenzhou 12 would be affected by the atmosphere during the landing process, such as air flow, temperature and wind, so there was a deviation from the landing point.
However, as long as you enter the corresponding height, the change will not be great. At the same time, there is also a huge bright spot on Shenzhou 12 - that is, China's Beidou system, Shenzhou 12 spacecraft carries a Beidou navigation terminal, so it can achieve accurate positioning and speed measurement. Then ground personnel can lock in based on this data.
As long as it is not in the black barrier area, it can be connected, so in fact, when the return capsule returns, we are already monitoring in real time, so before reaching the ground, we can basically lock the position, and then we can search for the specific location of the manned spacecraft.
Therefore, since Shenzhou 12 adopts the Beidou system, then Shenzhou 13 may also adopt it. 20,000 square kilometers of land, how to search for astronauts? Only need to use the Beidou system to lock, even if it is 40,000 square kilometers of site, search is not a problem.
