The second chapter of the Tao Te Ching is read after reading:
1 Everyone in the world knows that beauty is beautiful, and this is ugly. We all know that good is good, and this is evil.
2 Existence and non-existence are interdependent, difficult and easy are mutually reinforcing, long and short are compared to each other, high and low are each other's direction, sound and echo echo, and front and back are accompanied.
3 Therefore, the work of the saints is a cause which excludes all man-made efforts; The indoctrination performed by the saints is indoctrination beyond all words. He raised up all things but did not think that he was great, gave birth and did not take it for himself, gave without self-esteem, and became neither self-righteous. He does not claim his own merits, but his works are eternal and immortal.
