Couplet, one of the traditional cultures of the Han people. Couplets are also known as Yang Lian, because of the ancient hanging in the loutang mansion pillar and named, there are even words, Li Ci, Lian language, door reciprocal and other common names, to "couplet", it began in the Ming Dynasty.
It is a kind of dual literature, which originated from the peach symbol. The earliest historically recorded couplet appeared in the Three Kingdoms period. During the Reign of Ming Hongwu (1368-1399), in the Luling area of Jiangxi, a very large iron cross was unearthed, on which was cast the name of Sun Quan Chiwu in the Three Kingdoms Period. On the iron cross, there is also an artistically exquisite couplet: "The four seas celebrate Anlan, the iron pillar treasure light leaves the cross; the people are huai daze, and the golden furnace incense seal is thousands of autumns." "The couplet hanging during the Spring Festival is called the Spring League, the couplet that does funerals is called the Bang Lian, and the couplet that does the happy event is called the Celebration League. Couplets are a national style written using the characteristics of Chinese characters, and generally do not need rhymes.
As a custom, couplets are an important part of the traditional culture of the Han people. In 2005, China's State Council listed the customs of The Yanglian as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage.
