Liu Hankun's family treasures calligraphy and paintings
Liu Guojun (1887-1978) was born in Jingjiang, Jiangsu. In his early years, he was an apprentice in business, starting from scratch, and successively set up a cloth factory and a textile dyeing factory in Changzhou, which later merged into a modern enterprise, and introduced new technologies from overseas. Forty-nine years later, he successively served as a deputy to the National People's Congress, vice governor of Jiangsu Province, and vice chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In his spare time, he was diligent in learning, paying equal attention to poetry and books, and was involved in the collection of calligraphy and painting, and in the 40s, he had frequent contacts with Qian Jingtang, Wu Hufan, Sun Boyuan, Wang Nanping, etc. in Shanghai, and from time to time he re-purchased the collection, and his "Jingxiu Hall" collected fine works of famous artists of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, which was considerable. He actively promotes public welfare and education, donates funds to run schools, and some of his collections are donated to institutions such as Nanjing Museum and Changzhou Museum.
Liu Hankun undertook court training at a young age, studied under Qian Mingshan, and married the third daughter of Qian Yue, the uncle of the Qian family. Influenced by his father, he was good at calligraphy and painting, and during his stay in Chongqing, he had contacts with sages in the art world such as Zhang Daqian, Xu Beihong, Fu Baoshi, Huang Junbi, etc. He has been in charge of the family business for many years, and has been committed to exploring the Hong Kong and overseas markets since the 40s, and was elected as the Vice President of the Hong Kong Textile Association. He has served as a director of New Asia College, an honorary president of the Kwong Wah Sports Association, a permanent member of the South China Sports Association, an executive director of the Jiangsu and Zhejiang Townsmen Association, and the premier of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
Some of the paintings and calligraphy collected by Liu Hankun over the years were collected by his family and were not shown, and some of the paintings and calligraphy were released for the first time at Sotheby's Hong Kong this spring. Today, the second part is launched with a total of twenty-three frames, which collects the handwriting of Kangxi to Tongguang famous ministers Yashi Ying, and the joy of learning is in the spare time. In addition, there are beautiful painters of the Republic of China painting flowers, which can also be enjoyed.
All proceeds from the auction will be used for charitable purposes, helping the elderly and children, and helping the poor.
