Abstract: Recently, the U.S. Commercial Patent Database (IFI Claims) released its latest patent report, IBM applied for 8621 patents in 2021, down 5% from the previous year. Samsung Electronics ranked second with 6,366 patent applications, down 1% from the previous year. In third place was Canon, which filed 3,021 patents, down 6 percent from the previous year.

Huawei ranked fifth, with 2,770 patents applied for, up slightly from the previous year. BOE ranked 11th, and the number of patents applied for was 2135, down slightly from the previous year. Alibaba's innovative advanced technology company ranked 43rd, with 780 patents applied, up 696% from the previous year. OPPO ranked 49th, with 719 patents applied, an increase of 33% over the previous year.
