IBM has been accused of ageism: calling old employees "dinosaurs" and seeking to "exterminate" them

In recent years, former IBM employees have reportedly accused the company of ageism in various legal documents and news reports, saying ibm has tried to keep up with other competitors by replacing thousands of older employees with younger ones.

Now it seems that IBM's top executives are directly involved in discussions about the need to reduce the number of the company's old employees, sometimes using terms like "Dinobabies" to belittle them and discussing plans to turn them into "extinct species."

A batch of previously sealed documents made public by the U.S. District Court on Friday showed IBM executives discussing plans to phase out older employees and lamented the company's relatively low percentage of millennial employees.

The documents, which were exposed in a lawsuit that alleges that IBM made a year-long effort to change the age composition of its workforce, provide the first direct evidence made public that ibmim leadership played in crowding out older employees.
