A few days ago, foreign media said that Tesla Cyberruck could not be mass-produced for a long time and there was no clear progress, which triggered the first batch of overseas customers who were ordered in 2019 to express dissatisfaction, and some of them have considered canceling their subscriptions.
While the quasi-production version of Tesla Cybertruck has begun road trials, on a recent earnings call, Elon Musk could only say, "We're not going to launch a new model this year." After Cybertruck was announced in November 2019, it has begun to annoy the first pre-order customers due to the lack of progress.
Some of them vented their frustrations, especially since Tesla didn't reach out to them. Many of them have reportedly considered unsubscribing, and many have expressed disappointment. Meanwhile, other electric trucks such as the Ford F-150 Lightning, Chevrolet Sorod EV and Rivian R1T are also on the market. Of course, a large percentage of customers are willing to wait for this strange-looking pickup.
According to Tesla Cyberruck's crowdfunding booking tracking company, tesla had more than 1.2 million Cyberteruck bookings, or $86 billion in sales, at press time, while some on the list booked more than one car. While these orders are refundable, two years is still a long time and they could have used the money more wisely. For example, the purchase of Tesla stock has increased by as much as 17 times compared with the next booking.
The latest estimates (or rather hopes) of Tesla Cyberrock deliveries show that 2023 will be optimistic, but no one can guarantee that it will materialize. The electric car market has changed a lot in the last two years, and apart from its unique form factor, the Cybertruck has nothing to beat the Rivian R1T. When cyberruck is delivered in the future, there may be more strong contenders.
