Mei Lanfang is a well-known cultural messenger of the people of the world and an outstanding Peking Opera performance artist in China in the 20th century. On the occasion of the upcoming Spring Festival, a traditional Chinese festival, the "Mei Lan Fang Hua - Mei Lan Fang Art Life Exhibition" co-sponsored by the National Museum of China, Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall and taizhou Municipal People's Government is on display to the public. Based on the relevant precious cultural relics and documents showing Mei Lanfang's artistic life, the exhibition fully displays Mei Lanfang's artistic creation in different historical periods with panoramic mirror images, allowing the audience to experience the personal charm and moral demeanor of a generation of art masters at close range, and to savor the life feelings and spiritual strength contained in Mei Pai Peking Opera art works.
Peking Opera is a form of artistic expression with ultimate beauty, known as "National Opera". Since Huiban entered Beijing, Hua Ya jingyan, Hui Han confluence, gradually with "pi huang" as the main plate style, and also integrated the kun cavity, blowing cavity, plucking, nan gong and other local opera tones of the elite, so as to become the essence of the country. In the following two hundred years, the pear garden of China has flourished, the repertoire is like a forest, and famous artists have emerged, among them, especially the meipai art created by Mei Lanfang, has been open and has a far-reaching influence, and is famous overseas.
Mei Lanfang, whose ancestral home is Taizhou, was born in Beijing in 1894. He came from a famous family, learned from his family, and turned to many teachers, and was a pioneer of the emerging Danxing school in the early 20th century. Mei Lanfang's performance style is both rigorous and exquisite and beautiful, seemingly full of essence, but it contains a thousand brilliant ways: the singing song is exquisite, pure and full; the reading white is gentle and rounded, rigid and edgeless; the appearance is eclectic, to the wu cunjing. The Mei Lanfang art school he founded reversed the situation of "life-oriented" on the previous Peking Opera stage, and created a new era of "equal emphasis on life and dan", and industry experts competed to emulate it. As a pioneer in the overseas dissemination of Peking Opera art, Mei Lanfang has visited Japan, the United States, the Soviet Union and other countries for many times, highlighting the unique value of Chinese opera art in the treasure house of world art, and making positive contributions to the exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations. In 1959, Mei Lanfang gloriously joined the Communist Party of China, achieving a new leap in his life, and his art and life were more closely linked to the masses of the people.
The preciousness of Mei Lanfang's art lies not only in her unique natural conditions and painstaking efforts, but also in her progressive ideas, political embrace and national integrity. From the fashion dramas that broke feudal superstitions and feudal etiquette after the May Fourth Movement, such as "A Wisp of Hemp" and "Eunuch Tide", to the historical dramas that inspired the fighting spirit of the whole nation, such as "Life and Death Hate" and "Anti-Gold Soldier" in the early stage of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, mei Lanfang's rehearsal repertoire has always been related to the changes of the times and is related to the rise and fall of the country. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in an all-round way, Mei Lanfang resolutely refrained from colluding with the Japanese and the hypocrites and aiding and abetting abuse, and lived in Hong Kong and Shanghai with her family successively, singing and dancing, and growing a beard for eight years, during which she only relied on pawns and paintings as a continuation, and showed the lofty dignity and dignity of "preferring to be crushed by jade rather than for the whole" at the critical juncture of the nation. In the 1950s, Mei Lanfang actively practiced the purpose of "literature and art for the people", constantly innovated, built a drama performance system with deep national characteristics, completed the sublimation and transformation from "the king of the world" to the people's artist, and became a literary and art worker with high cultural self-confidence.
The exhibition includes eight units: "Qunying Spectrum Jingyun", "Mei Xiu Out of the Family", "Mei Zhan Hundred Flowers Kui", "Mei Xin YuXuan", "Mei Xiang Chuan Wanli", "Plum Bone Proud Wind and Snow", "Plum Newspaper All Things Spring", "Mei Yun Exhibition New Sound". The nearly 400 objects exhibited in this exhibition are all precious cultural relics and documents related to Mei Lanfang's artistic life, and include collections that have not been published for a long time; in addition, the exhibition is also a perfect interpretation of Mei Lanfang's titles of "King of the Drama Industry", "People's Artist", "The Most Beautiful Strivers" and "Virtue and Art Double Xin".
