From the first year of junior high school to the second year of high school, Yang Fan has been practicing basketball when he was in school, and he has always thought that he will become a professional basketball player. However, a ski in early 2019 changed everything. "At that time, I was in my second year of high school, went skiing in winter, slid down from a high place, and felt like a lightning shock to me, which made me fall deeply in love with the speed and excitement of sliding on the snow, and then decided that I must change my major when I entered the university." Yang Fan said.
In 2020, Yang Fan was admitted to Hebei Institute of Physical Education and became a student of ice and snow sports as desired, mainly learning alpine skiing and snowboard parallel giant slalom projects. During the school period, Yang Fan learned that the school was recruiting "Winter Olympic Volunteers" and resolutely signed up to participate.
From December 2020 to October 2021, Yang Fan participated in a total of four "Hebei Winter Olympic Volunteer Core Backbone Exchange Camp" training. From the field to the field experience of the event, to the training of public relations etiquette, English, sign language communication and learning, as well as the specific work of the event service, epidemic prevention measures, every training, every content, Yang Fan feels precious.
"Although I participated in the Winter Olympic volunteer service and missed the competition of the third ice and snow games in Hebei Province, I have never regretted it, after all, the ice and snow games in Hebei Province are available every year, but serving the Winter Olympics is an opportunity that is difficult to find." On December 4, 2021, the "Meet in Beijing" 2021/2022 FIS Ski Jumping (Men/Womens) Intercontinental Cup was held at the Zhangjiakou National Ski Jumping Center.
