Back to the top of the list after 6 years! Apple's share of the Chinese smartphone market reached a new high

According to market analyst Counterpoint Research, Apple had a market share of 23 percent in the fourth quarter of last year, and sales increased 32 percent year-over-year. Analysts at Counterpoint Research said the iPhone 13 gained market acceptance due to its relatively low starting price, new camera capabilities, and 5G features.

Previously, the top of the Chinese smartphone market has always been occupied by Huawei, but due to limited shipments, Huawei's share of the Chinese market in the fourth quarter of last year was only 7%, and sales fell by 73% year-on-year.

Chinese brand vivo ranked second with a market share of 19%, followed by oppo with a market share of 17%, honor spin-off and independence with a 15% share of fourth, followed by Xiaomi with a market share of 13%.

Counterpoint Research also said total sales in the Chinese smartphone market fell 2% year-on-year. Ivan Lam, senior analyst at Counterpoint Research, said, "The reason for this situation is firstly due to the global shortage of semiconductors and components affecting the shipment capacity of mobile phone suppliers, and secondly, the average replacement cycle of smartphones for Chinese consumers is becoming longer." ”
