Prior to this, Volkswagen Group China closed two plants in Tianjin on January 10, namely FAW-Volkswagen Tianjin Branch and Volkswagen Automatic Transmission Plant, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Tianjin.

It is understood that the outbreak of the epidemic has made all employees of Tianjin Joyson, a supplier of FAW-Volkswagen located in the Tianjin control zone, isolate at home and unable to arrive at work normally. As a supplier responsible for supplying eight models of FAW-Volkswagen Changchun plant, Tianjin Joyson involves three material groups of seat belts, airbags and steering wheels, and due to serious restrictions on the transportation of personnel and materials, the Changchun plant is facing huge production pressure.

The relevant departments of FAW-Volkswagen worked at the first time, actively sought alternative solutions, verified the breakpoint time, and coordinated the processing of vehicle passes so that the finished product inventory could be shipped out as soon as possible. At the same time, when the emergency deployment of support from Joyson Group was still unable to meet the production, the Tianjin branch took the initiative to ask for help and quickly implemented under the premise of meeting the government's epidemic prevention and control requirements and sufficient personnel protection, setting up a working group in 1 hour, forming a project plan in 4 hours, completing the assembly of the first batch of support commandos in 12 hours, and all 42 chi-friendly personnel in place in 36 hours.
