The child was screened positive for nucleic acid test at the isolation hotel on January 18 and was transferred by a negative pressure transfer vehicle to the CUHK Fifth Hospital for treatment. Zheng Fangfang, deputy director of the Department of Pediatrics of the Fifth Hospital of CUHK, introduced that at the beginning of admission, the child had cough and runny nose, and chest CT suggested inflammation of the lower lobe of the right lung, which was diagnosed as a new coronavirus pneumonia (ordinary type).

During the treatment period, Zhuhai City set up a new crown pneumonia medical treatment team to do a good job in medical treatment. According to the actual situation of the child, the hospital's new crown treatment expert group has formulated a scientific and standardized personalized treatment plan such as treatment, nursing, care, and comfort. On January 27, the child re-examined the new crown nucleic acid and chest CT, and according to the eighth edition of the "Diagnosis and Treatment Plan for Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia", met the discharge conditions, and continued to be isolated in the hospital for medical observation for 14 days after discharge.

Li Zhonghe, vice president of the Fifth Hospital of CUHK, introduced that combined with the group characteristics of this round of new crown pneumonia patients, while making every effort to do a good job in treatment, the hospital attaches great importance to the mental health of children. In order to provide peace of mind for these children, treatment, care, care and comfort programmes have been developed. Focusing on symptomatic treatment, the hospital and experts from Zhuhai Hospital of the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly adopt integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment programs; the new crown ward purchases toys, books and picture books for children to read; and cooperates with relevant schools to set up teaching courses for older children's isolation wards, and improves the compliance of elderly children in diagnosis and treatment through the joint model of cultural classes, health education classes and psychological counseling classes.

As of January 27, the Fifth Hospital of CUHK has treated 36 confirmed cases and 3 asymptomatic infected patients in Zhuhai, and the clinical manifestations are mostly mild, of which 18 are children, the oldest is 13 years old, and the youngest is 1 year old.
