Volkswagen subsidiary and Bosch full cooperation aim to install autonomous driving on all models

In March last year, Volkswagen Group officially named its software division Cariad as a subsidiary of the group. For more than half a year, Cariad has not moved much, until recently, the smart car faction learned that Bosch has established a comprehensive partnership with Cariad. It seems that Volkswagen is going to accelerate in the field of autonomous driving.

According to reports, the purpose of this cooperation is very clear, aiming to provide drivers with a safer and easier driving experience and accelerate the implementation of autonomous driving functions in all volkswagen models. The two sides hope to adapt the partial and highly automated driving technology to meet the demand for mass production, so that consumers can experience the real autonomous driving technology.

It is foreseeable that Volkswagen's models will introduce autonomous driving functions more quickly, allowing drivers to temporarily drive off their hands under the premise of safety. Specifically, it mainly includes L2 level off-hand partial automatic driving systems for urban, suburban and highway driving, and L3 level conditional automatic driving systems for highway driving. It is reported that the first batch of automatic driving systems will begin to be assembled and applied in 2023. The two companies will develop a cutting-edge standardized platform for partial and highly automated driving technologies and apply the platform to all passenger cars under the Volkswagen Group brand.

It is worth mentioning that the cooperation between Volkswagen and Bosch does not stop there, and The Smart Car Faction has previously reported that Volkswagen and Bosch signed a memorandum of understanding on January 18 to explore industrial-scale solutions for European battery manufacturing.
