From the perspective of power, the new car is equipped with a 4.4T 8-cylinder turbocharged engine, with a maximum output of 441kW (460kW for the Thunder version), a peak torque of 750N·m, and matches an 8-speed manual transmission. Its Zero Hundred acceleration time is only 3.3 seconds, and the Thunder version is only 3.2 seconds, which is ahead of the Porsche Palmera at the same price point (Zero Hundred acceleration is 3.9 seconds).
It is worth mentioning that 2022 is the 50th anniversary of the BMW M brand, in addition to the new BMW M8, BMW will also introduce more niche models within this year, including the high-performance version of the 2 series coupe M240i, the X3/X4 high-performance version X3/X4 M40i and the high-performance version of the iX M60.
