The inner painting that originated from the snuff bottle refers to the process of using a special metal rod to hook the pen, digging into the container of glass/crystal, amber and other materials, and painting inside the container.

Today, I have been engaged in the art of inner painting for nearly fifteen years. Learning inner painting stems from curiosity, "how can you paint so beautifully without seeing the inside of the container", because the thinking and procedures of ordinary external painting are completely opposite, inner painting needs a certain foundation of painting, and Shen Hongmei has loved painting since she was a child, "can engage in this line of work for so long, or from liking". There are not so many reasons for god, and some beautiful and crucial moments can sometimes determine a person's life.
But the process of learning inner painting is very boring, more than 14 hours of practice time a day, horizontal lines, vertical lines, circles... The lines alone took more than half a month to draw. It is precisely the precipitation of these times that allows Shen Hongmei to use the art of flipping and fine brushwork to create breathtaking works from landscapes to portraits, from cultural relics Baoding to flowers, birds, fish and insects.
"For non-hereditary heirs, time has two sides"
In sharp contrast to historical inheritance, the audience of traditional skills is not extensive, and there are no intangible cultural heritage skills or products that consume and market, just like the ancient language recorded on parchment, which is gradually dying out. This is a common dilemma faced by China's intangible cultural heritage: they have a deep and timeless historical connotation, but they have gradually lost those who know how to appreciate them in the long period of social development.
It is often said that there are three difficulties in painting inside. One is that it is difficult to learn, the second is that it is difficult to paint, and the third is the lack of market.
The birth of an inner painting work, as short as a few days, as long as a few months, "doing this line is particularly eye-catching, painting inside, the outside is invisible, once the age is old, the hands including the eyes will not be able to keep up", Shen Hongmei's sentence said the dilemma brought about by time faced by traditional craftsmen.
Shen Hongmei's masterpiece, the painting bottle inside the butterfly, takes a long time, a butterfly takes a day, and the whole work takes a month.

"There are really few people who can support themselves by traditional skills." When persistence collides with reality, how many people can persevere.
In the past few years, especially in the process of learning inner painting, not only can not earn much money, but also spend family money, not to mention Shen Hongmei herself, all the family members, including relatives, are opposed to her learning this, everyone said "you find a job near home, close to home and safe, how good", but Shen Hongmei is not willing to give up, the most embarrassing time, in the company to make a floor, on the single sofa for a lot of nights.
Maybe in retrospect, it was really nice not to give up at that time, fortunately all the persistence was worth it, and what you loved will one day embrace you in turn... In recent years, the importance of intangible cultural heritage, including traditional culture, has been continuously improved, as a representative inheritor of turquoise inner paintings, a director of the Anhui Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Association, a celebrity of arts and crafts in Anhui Province, and a member of the China Arts and Crafts Association, Shen Hongmei's inner paintings have won numerous awards and are also deeply loved by the public.
She missed out on a life that might be relatively secure, but she also had the ability to pay for what she loved.
"Inheriting Inner Paintings Is Always on the Road"
Although the inner painting originated from the snuff bottle, after all, the most traditional snuff bottle has gradually lost its practical value, and Shen Hongmei's valuable point is that she not only inherits the skills, but also adds young elements to the traditional culture, thus having the power to resist time. Combined with life - pen holders, hanging ornaments, jewelry boxes, tea pots, water cups, etc., so that the inner painting is more widely integrated into people's lives.
It is understood that the low tide of the mainland painting market, which has lasted since 2010, has been a sharp decline in apprentices and no successors, which is the most intuitive manifestation of the low tide period. Shen Hongmei told xiaobian that according to her understanding, there are very few people engaged in inner painting skills in Anhui Province at present.
In recent years, in order to increase the inheritance of luzhou's internal paintings, Shen Hongmei has devoted herself to teaching. She can be seen in the Municipal Cultural Center, the District Cultural Center, the Youth Activity Center or the school. Just so that more people can know the inner painting, understand the inner painting, and preferably fall in love with the inner painting.
