The Fourth Circuit of the Supreme People's Court held a seminar on juvenile trial work in circuit districts

In order to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, develop and improve the juvenile justice system with Chinese characteristics, and improve the quality and efficiency of juvenile cases, on the morning of January 18, the Fourth Circuit Court of the Supreme People's Court held a seminar on juvenile trial work in circuit areas by video. The Fourth Circuit Court of the Supreme People's Court, the Juvenile Court Work Office of the Research Office of the Supreme People's Court, the relevant responsible comrades and presiding judges of the High Courts of Henan, Shanxi, Hubei and Anhui Provinces and the Intermediate Courts of Provincial Capital Cities in the Circuit District, and scholars from some universities in the four provinces attended the seminar.

The meeting conveyed the spirit of the recent meetings of the Central Political and Legal Work Conference, the National High Court Presidents' Conference, and the Supreme People's Court Juvenile Court Work Office. The seminar is divided into three units: "Situation Analysis of Juvenile Trial Work in Four Provinces of the Circuit District", "Judicial Concept of Juvenile Trial in the New Era", and "Typical Juvenile Crimes and Judicial Protection", focusing on the judicial concept of juvenile trial, the principle of two-way protection, the subject of juvenile crime, the age of criminal responsibility, the protection of the rights and interests of students in rural schools, and juvenile crimes related to triad crimes. Scholars from the three levels of courts and universities in the four provinces submitted a total of 53 papers and research reports. At the meeting, the authors of 12 excellent articles introduced and exchanged views in turn.

The responsible comrades of the Juvenile Court Work Office of the Research Office of the Supreme People's Court commented on the discussion articles one by one from the three aspects of concepts, methods and countermeasures, affirmed the overall quality, topic design, and research methods of the papers and reports attending the meeting, said that many of the research results have reference significance for the drafting of judicial interpretations and judicial policies, and suggested that courts at all levels do a good job in transforming the results and further promote juvenile trial work in the new era.

The meeting stressed that it is necessary to deeply understand the significance of juvenile trial work in the new era, strictly administer justice, increase publicity on the rule of law, unite social forces, strengthen the construction of the team, and deepen the combination of theory and practice; It is necessary to grasp the characteristics of juvenile trial work in various localities, conduct type-based research and precise policies, persist in combining innovation with standardization, and introduce a number of high-level, influential, and effective theoretical and practical achievements; It is necessary to take this seminar as an opportunity to strive to promote new developments in juvenile trial work in circuit areas, create new characteristics, and make new contributions.
