Han Jiuheng: From apprentice to waterproof expert with national patent technology

Han Jiuheng is the general manager and chief engineer of Beijing Changping District Housing Guard Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. From a painter and waterproof worker who eats by strength to a waterproof expert with 15 national patent technologies, Han Jiuheng has been deeply engaged in the waterproof field for 27 years, and has contributed to the development of the waterproof industry with the spirit of craftsmanship of excellence. In addition, he also devoted himself to public welfare and giving back to the society, and was also awarded the title of "National Excellent Migrant Worker".

In 1994, Han Jiuheng graduated from junior high school. Due to the large number of brothers and sisters in his family and poor economic conditions, Han Jiuheng, who was only 17 years old, dropped out of school and followed his fathers from his hometown of Linquan County, Anhui Province, to Beijing to "break in". With no technology and lack of work experience, Han Jiuheng started as a waterproof apprentice. Set up pots and pans, burn asphalt, make homemade oil barrels... Han Jiuheng said that at that time, what he had was that down-to-earth and real motivation. He also humbly asked and learned from the predecessors of the waterproofing industry. He cherishes every job he receives and always strives for excellence. Over time, due to the beautiful work under his hands, more and more projects took the initiative to find him.

Waterproofing projects involve multiple locations such as roofs, walls, ground and basements of buildings, and Han Jiuheng knows the importance of waterproofing projects to buildings, not only never being sloppy, but also constantly exploring innovative methods. "Once, when doing waterproofing, the bathroom of the fifth floor resident leaked, affecting the normal life of the fourth floor residents, but the fifth floor homeowner did not cooperate with the waterproofing." Han Jiuheng said that in the past, the normal process needed to remove the tiles, toilets and wash basins of the bathroom on the fifth floor, plan the ground, re-do the waterproof layer, and restore the waterproof layer after completion, at least half a month, the process is complicated, the time is long, and the cost is high. How to complete the repair without "a lot of effort" has become a problem that Han Jiu thinks about day and night.

With years of experience, Han Jiuheng carefully observed and demonstrated, innovatively adopted the bold idea of construction through the ceiling on the fourth floor, locked the location of the water leakage point, performed a local perforation "minimally invasive" operation on the wall, and successfully sealed the leakage point through the high-pressure grouting fusion of liquid foam coating. The discovery of the new construction method not only greatly shortened the construction period, but also reduced the construction cost to less than one-third of the original, which greatly enhanced Han Jiuheng's determination to take root in the waterproofing cause and his confidence in in-depth research on technology. With a good reputation and the spirit of craftsmanship, Han Jiuheng was hired by a large waterproof company with a high salary, and has more room to show, he constantly improves this technology, and successfully applied for a patent with "minimally invasive structure plugging technology".

In 2004, Han Jiuheng gave up his high-paying job and officially registered "Beihai Waterproofing" to specialize in the research and development of high-quality waterproof materials; in 2012, he cooperated with friends to set up an enterprise specializing in waterproof construction projects, and successfully applied for first-class contracting qualifications. Up to now, Han Jiuheng has successfully applied for 15 national patents, solved a number of building waterproof plugging problems, and its technology has been widely used in many major construction projects such as beijing world garden fair, China University of Petroleum (Beijing) comprehensive gymnasium, Zhongguancun life science park and so on.

"When the villagers helped me without hesitation, I dug up the 'first pot of gold.'" After the success of his career, Han Jiuheng did not forget the villagers and has been giving back to the society in various ways for many years.

"Linquan County has a large population and is also a typical poor county, and I hope to make a contribution to changing this situation, so that more villagers can get rid of poverty and get rich, and drink the 'mineral water' that I was reluctant to drink at that time." Since 2006, Han Jiuheng has organized 20 to 30 people every year to go to his construction site for free waterproofing skills training, and provide food and accommodation, and choose to stay or start a business after completing his studies. Under his help and guidance, more and more villagers have shaken off poverty, bought a car and a house in their hometown, married and had children, and lived happily.

At the same time, Han Jiuheng also led the establishment of the Aien Public Welfare Alliance to serve nursing homes and welfare homes; donated materials to Heishanzhai Primary School in Changping District and Luanping County in Hebei Province, and funded 3 primary and secondary school students in Changping District one-on-one. Up to now, the public welfare alliance led by Han Jiuheng has donated more than 800,000 yuan of materials to the society.

"I'm just one of many migrant workers, and I never thought I could get such a high honor." In the future, I will continue to contribute to the construction of the city with this honor and responsibility. Han Jiuheng said.
