At about 16:50 on July 12, 2021, a cry for help came, which quickly attracted the attention of Wen Chao and his teammates who were conducting water rescue training in the waters of the Liuxi River under the Dajiang Lite Bridge on Huanglong Road in Liangkou Town, Conghua District. Someone fell into the water! Out of professional habits, Wen Chao and his teammates quickly surveyed the surroundings. Soon, on the surface of the lake not far away, they saw someone fluttering and struggling in the water, and the situation was very critical.
Time is of the essence! Without much thought, Wen Chao did not hesitate to jump into the water, quickly swam to the drowning man and carried him back to the shore. It was learned that a 12-year-old boy was rescued. In the afternoon, the boy and his companions swam here, because the floating ball on his body suddenly fell off, coupled with his own inability to swim, the boy was physically unable to drown. Due to the timely rescue, the boy only choked on a few sips of water, and his body was not in serious trouble. After landing, Wen Chao and his teammates conducted summer safety education for the children.
"After hearing the child's cry for help, I saw the child lying on the surface of the water together, and I jumped straight down without thinking about anything." When asked if he had considered his own safety, Wen Chao smiled, "I really didn't have time to think about it at that moment!" ”

Since joining the fire brigade in April 2017, he has participated in the disposal of many dangerous chemical accidents such as the "5.18" tank truck leakage accident in 2018, the "4.3" Jiutai Energy Co., Ltd. fire fighting in 2018, the "6.27" Varueric nitric acid tank leakage accident in 2019 and the "8.30" Qining chemical sulfur fire in 2019. So far, he has participated in more than 500 fire fighting and rescue operations, and rescued more than 100 people in distress. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, he and his teammates are always on standby, ready to come to the police rescue. Wen Chao said that after each rescue, he will feel extremely relieved and proud, and it is the profession of fire protection that has allowed him to have a different kind of youth.
At 3:23 a.m. on April 3, 2018, the factory building of a company in the Xiaohudao Chemical Zone in Nansha exploded and caught fire. The fire was fierce, and there were also a large number of gas leaks such as dimethyl ether in the pipeline near the annex building of the factory. The device is extremely prone to re-explosion, which seriously threatens the safety of other storage tanks in the plant. In this accident, Wen Chao used a mobile water cannon to point a mobile water cannon at the leak site to dilute the gas before leaking the pipeline. During the period, Wen Chao inhaled a small amount of dimethyl ether gas, resulting in dizziness, but he still insisted until the factory staff closed the valve.
At 2:40 a.m. on November 13, 2018, the 119 command center received an alarm that a fire broke out on the first floor of a private house in Dagang Town, Nansha District. After receiving the dispatch order, the Huangge Fire Squadron dispatched 1 rescue vehicle, 1 18-ton water tank foam truck and 8 commanders and fighters to the scene to rescue, and Wen Chao was one of them. After fire reconnaissance, rescuers found that the building that caught fire was a brick-concrete structure, and the trapped people were in the toilet in the upper left corner. Subsequently, two groups of demolition teams acted quickly: one group used a toothless saw to break the roller shutter door on the first floor to carry out internal attack and extinguishing, and one group used a two-section ladder to erect a second-floor toilet window and use a toothless saw to break and rescue people. At that time, the situation was urgent, and the smoke was billowing, and Wen Chao took the initiative to ask Miao to enter the fire site from the sawn-open roller gate to search and rescue. "When I went inside, I realized that the situation was more complicated than I thought." Wen Chao did not hesitate in the slightest and continued to grope forward. In the end, he and his teammates successfully rescued the trapped people.
Practice skills diligently, standardize operations and practice physical fitness
Before joining the fire brigade, Wen Chao was a soldier. After joining the company, he was well aware of the particularity of the nature of the team's tasks, and also more deeply realized the meaning of the phrase "people first, life first".
In the rescue, in order to achieve victory in battle, no mistakes, during the daily training period can not tolerate a little sloppy. Therefore, in daily training, Wen Chao is meticulous about every action. In order to practice his strong skills, he practiced 1 hour of physical training every night, insisting on groping under the fire truck every day, from re-understanding the parts to mastering the principle of the components, grasping every operation skill. Every step of the implementation of the group training, Wen Chao is more familiar with it, and does not tire of standardizing the operation of the team members.
