The 2021 ACM Fellow 71-man "big list" has just been released.
It is worth noting that Xie Tao's election means that he, like his brother Xie Yuan, has become a Chinese scholar who has been elected as a Fellow of the three top international societies (ACM, IEEE, AAAS) at the same time.

Who is Xie Tao?
Professor Tao Xie was a full professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and has been awarded a tenured teaching position.
He is currently a chair professor at the School of Computer Science of Peking University and the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of High-Credible Software Technology (Peking University) of the Ministry of Education.
Born in Hezhou, Guangxi, he was admitted to Fudan University in 1992 with the third place in the Guangxi Science College Entrance Examination.
He then received a master's degree in computer science and technology from Professor Mei Hong at Peking University.
Two years after graduating from Peking University, Xie Tao went to the United States to study and received a master's and doctoral degree from the University of Washington.
As soon as he graduated with his Ph.D., he entered North Carolina State University as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science, where he was promoted to associate professor for tenure a year in advance.
Eight years later, in 2013, Xie Tao came to UIUC to teach, and in 4 years he rose from tenured associate professor to full professor.
In 2018, Xie Tao was elected as an IEEE Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and a year later, he was elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS Fellow), and he has just been selected as a 2021 ACM Fellow, and has gathered three international summits.
Xie Tao's main research areas include software engineering, system software, software security, and trusted artificial intelligence, and he has published more than 200 papers in the past decade.
As one of the first Chinese winners, he won the most influential paper of ASE 2021 at the International Summit of Software Engineering.
In addition, Xie Tao's awards and honors include the Science Exploration Award, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Overseas Outstanding Youth Science Fund and its continuing funding, the Microsoft Research Outstanding Collaborator Award (one of the 32 awarding professors in the world, one of the 3 Chinese winners), the Microsoft Research Software Engineering Innovation Foundation Award, the Google Professor Research Award, the Facebook Research Award, the IBM Jazz Innovation Award, the IBM Professor Award...

Liu Tieyan graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University, was elected IEEE Fellow in 2016, and is also an honorary professor of the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, an adjunct professor and doctoral supervisor of Tsinghua University, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of Science and Technology of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and other universities.
