Beijing, January 18 (Reporter Liu Jia) Less than 20 days after the opening of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, volunteers from the Winter Olympics in Beijing have gathered to their respective volunteer service venues. It is reported that the first batch of university Winter Olympic volunteers have been in place in early January. Under the pressure of epidemic prevention and control, university volunteers will enter the closed-loop management after entering the venue.

On January 14 and 15, volunteers from Beijing Agricultural College and University of Science and Technology Beijing set out in turn to participate in volunteer service work at Capital International Airport and Wukesong Sports Center. Prior to this, the two schools successively held expedition ceremonies to send off volunteers and talk about the "ideological and political lesson" of volunteering for the Winter Olympics.

On January 15, the 20th countdown to the Winter Olympics, the University of Science and Technology Beijing held a winter Olympic volunteer expedition. Yang Renshu, president of the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Yu Chengwen, deputy secretary of the party committee, teachers of the volunteer work class of the School Winter Olympics, deputy secretaries of the party committees of various colleges, 289 volunteers of the games, and 107 city volunteers participated in the activities through online and offline methods. According to Wang Li, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School, in the past year, volunteers have completed centralized theoretical training, simulated induction drills, and two "Meet in Beijing" test activities through special theoretical training such as "Continuing the Initial Intention of a Hundred Years, Writing the Winter Olympic Chapter", "National Conditions and Society", "Volunteer Mental Health", and "Emergency Care Knowledge", continuously improving their comprehensive quality and service capabilities, and shaping a team of volunteers who are politically competent, professionally solid, outstanding in ability, and excellent in style.

Yang Renshu said that the school attaches great importance to the guarantee of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and has set up a leading group for the Winter Olympic Volunteer Work. During the Winter Olympics, the school will form two special classes for the Winter Olympics in the station and on campus, and three working groups in the closed loop, outside the closed loop, and urban volunteers, to coordinate and cooperate with the tasks assigned by the Winter Olympic Organizing Committee. In order to fully protect the daily life of volunteers during the volunteer service of the Winter Olympics, the University of Science and Technology Beijing has specially set up a special class of teachers of the Winter Olympic Volunteers to present a "heart-warming gift package" to the volunteer representatives on the day of the expedition.

On January 14, Beijing Agricultural College held a ceremony for volunteers from the Winter Olympics. Zhao Feng, secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Agricultural College, gave a "thought and politics class" before the Winter Olympics volunteers, and President Zhou Jianping presented the flag to the volunteer team. According to reports, Beijing Agricultural College has selected 96 Winter Olympic volunteers from 1262 registered teachers and students, and during the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, they will be jointly responsible for the volunteer service work of the Capital International Airport together with the Central University of Finance and Economics and other 5 universities. The first volunteers will take up their posts on January 15, and the last will return to school in early April, for a total of more than 80 days.

Volunteers will face challenges such as epidemic prevention and control, closed-loop management, and the inability to go home for reunions during the Spring Festival. Zhao Feng encouraged the students to overcome difficulties and write with practical actions: "This is a new experience and a major test.
