The great chaos in the world at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty was not unrelated to the struggle for power and profit by foreign relatives and eunuchs for more than a hundred years, so the eunuchs in the Three Kingdoms era basically had no sense of existence. However, there was one exception, he was the eunuch Huang Hao of the Shu Han Dynasty, after zhuge liang and other Shu Han Siying died, Liu Chan favored the eunuch Huang Hao, who took charge of the government and manipulated the authority, and did not dare to return to Chengdu, where Jiang Wei was forced. So, after the fall of the Shu Han, what happened to Huang Hao?
Huang Hao's trace process
Liu Chan's early life experience is quite tragic, his mother died early, Changshanpo almost disappeared in the rebel army, if it were not for Zhao Yun's desperate efforts to save it, it is estimated that Liu Chan died after birth. However, after the Battle of Chibi, Liu Bei slowly gained momentum, and Ah Dou's living conditions were greatly improved. Liu Chan was born in 207 AD, in 208 Liu Bei occupied the four counties of Jingzhou, and in 214 Liu Bei captured Yizhou.
When Liu Bei entered Chengdu, Ah Dou was only 7 years old, and since then Ah Dou has lived a carefree life, so it can be said that Liu Chan also grew up in the deep palace. Growing up in the deep palace, the people who accompanied him were naturally indispensable to eunuchs, and Huang Hao had obtained Liu Chan's most primitive trust in this way, the so-called long-term love, every day relatively together, Liu Chan trusted Huang Hao.
When Zhuge Liang, Jiang Huan, Fei Yi, Dong Yun, and others were there, Huang Hao naturally had a thief's heart and no thief's guts, and there was no hope of interfering in the political struggle for power and profit. In the first year of Jing Yao (258), the Zhenjun general Chen Qi fell ill and died, and the eunuch Huang Hao began to devote himself to the government. Huang Hao became a lieutenant from Huang Men Ling (黄門令) to Lieutenant Commander of the Zhongchang (中常侍) and Fengche Du (奉車都尉). Liu Chan's younger brother Liu Yong hated Huang Hao and advised Liu Chan, but Liu Chan gradually alienated Liu Yong, so that Liu Yong could not see Liu Chan for many years.
Manipulating authority and causing havoc on government affairs
At the end of the Shu Han Dynasty, talents withered away, and most of the officials were attached to Huang Hao. In the fifth year of Jing Yao (262), Jiang Wei saw that Huang Hao was unscrupulously regent of the dynasty, and Liu Chan executed him, liu Chan ordered Huang Hao to apologize to Jiang Wei, but Jiang Wei saw that Huang Hao was in the middle of the dynasty, and he was afraid that he would be unfavorable to himself. Jiang Wei was very frightened by this, so he asked to go to Tuntian in Puzhong and did not dare to return to Chengdu.
In the sixth year of Jing Yao (263), Jiang Wei heard that Zhong would rule the army in Guanzhong, so he wrote to Liu Chan to dispatch troops to prepare, but Huang Hao believed in ghost magic and told Liu Chan that the enemy would not come in the end, and Liu Chan and his qunchen also thought that Shu Dao was difficult and dangerous, and all the Wei army attacks were repelled, and it was enough to be on strict alert, so they did not take it seriously. I think this is Huang Hao's greatest sin, the army that destroyed the country came, and he was completely unprepared, which was really a mistake for the country and the wrong king!
The final outcome became a mystery
In 263 AD, Sima Zhao sent a three-way army to cut down Shu, Deng Ai smuggled across the Yinping Trail, and the soldiers approached the city of Chengdu, and Liu Chan surrendered to Shu Han and perished. According to records, after Liu Chan surrendered, in 264 AD, the Zhonghui Rebellion occurred, Liu Chan's family moved to Luoyang, at that time the situation was critical and the action was hasty, and none of the Shu Han ministers followed to protect Liu Chan, only Hao Zheng and Zhang Tong, the governor of the palace, abandoned their wives and children to accompany them.
It shows that Huang Hao did not follow Liu Chan to Luoyang at that time, which is actually very understandable. According to the general bloody monarch, if he saw Deng Aibing approaching the city, his first reaction was to pull Huang Hao to behead him. Didn't you say the enemy wouldn't come? Now that they are all in Chengdu, what do you say! It can only be said that Liu Chan was too confused and cowardly, and in the end he did not cut Huang Hao.
Liu Chan didn't kill Huang Hao, but someone wanted to kill him! According to the "Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms, Dong Yun's Biography": "And Deng Ai to Shu, smell Hao's treachery, close it, and kill him, and Hao Hou bribed Ai left and right, and was spared." After Deng Ai entered Chengdu, he heard about Huang Hao's treacherous danger and prepared to kill him, and Huang Hao bribed Deng Ai's cronies to avoid death. This really fulfills the sentence - good people do not live long and live for thousands of years!
In the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it is said that Huang Hao was eventually executed by Sima Zhao's order Ling Chi, which can be described as a very happy ending, however, whether it is the Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms or the Zizhi Tongjian, there is no relevant record of Huang Hao's death. However, we can speculate that in 264 AD, Zhong Hui and Jiang Wei prepared to rebel against Sima Zhao, and as a result, they were killed, according to the "Chronicle of the Three Kingdoms and the Later Lord", "will die immediately, and the Shuzhong army will be in a state of mourning, and it will be a few days of an anji." ”
After Zhong Hui's death, The Cao Wei army was unconstrained, and the soldiers burned and looted for several days before ending, known as the Shuzhong Massacre. At that time, Guan Yu was exterminated, and many important officials of the Shu Han Dynasty were killed, so why did the soldiers kill the officials? Because they have money and treasures in their families, and eunuchs like Huang Hao, who manipulate power, must be richer in the family, so I am more inclined to think that Huang Hao also died in the rebellion.
